Now I can't edit contact and add new contact to outlook.com account on my Android phone.

I have a Nexus 5 with the latest KitKat update. I have set up Outlook.com app and also set up the Exchange server with the hotmail settings.  I can now sync contacts, calendar, and email, as well as folders. However I get 2 calendar events for every event I make. Minor problem and i am not going to waste time to find out why. Just happy it works. I am not using the built in android email app.

I have come across this thread after recently suffering the same problems using my Android 4.2.1 phone. I have outlook.com syncing via Exchange Active Sync. Emails and Calendar work fine however Contacts do not. They sync initially as expected, but no changes/deletions/additions are synchronised. I'm not sure how long this has been an issue as I only just noticed it. I have reset my phone and recreated Corporate accounts but still no luck after the initial sync.

Exchange active sync works fine with other email servers (eg my work) including 2 way contact sync.

Microsoft, can you please look into this. There are many discussions about the problem so appears to be wide spread.

There may be other email apps that display Outlook subfolders but the only one I've tried that does this is the Outlook app. I also had the misguided thought that it would work better with Microsoft Outlook accounts.

It adds only one advantage that I can find.  The built-in Email app can't sync more than 30 days of messages.  The Outlook.com app can sync as many messages as you have.

Why use Outlook.com app at all, then. Does it provide any advantage over the Corporate Email option besides Miscrosoft-looking style?  Thanks.
