Now I can't edit contact and add new contact to outlook.com account on my Android phone.

I found a solution by combining Outlook.com app and the the Exchange account type that comes with Jelly Bean. In fact, I would probably have used only the Exchange ActiveSync account but it doesn't support multiple Windows Live Calendars.

The way I did it is to configure Outlook.com to sync only calendars, not contacts then I created the ActiveSync account and requested it to sync only Contacts and Tasks (not Calendar and Email). This way, I can modify / add contacts and (any) calendar events and I take my emails in Outlook.com app.

This was exactly what I needed to know.  It works perfectly for me.  I was getting really frustrated trying to come up with a simple solution that consolidated all of my contacts, calendar, tasks, etc., and I decided to use Office 365.  So far, I'm really liking it, but not being able to edit my contacts was very frustrating.  Thanks so much for taking the time to share this!

Works great for creating a new contact on my Android Phone and syncing to my Outlook.com contacts. Can't edit any existing contacts, but that's ok as I can take care of that on the web.

Not sure if it MS playing games or what. Would seem to be. I went over to Android because there was no compelling dual-sim phone (I looked at the 630. no thanks). I've spent a few days now configuring my Android phone to use all my MS services. Pretty frustrating issue when it seems there should be an easy solution. I could have done the exchange thing, but your (JS-UK2) works and is easy. Once MS gets of their butt and fixes the Outlook App, I won't have to reconfigure anything.

Just look back at my post on page 1. Contact Editor Free enables syncing of Outlook.com contacts on android phone with desktop and cloud Outlook.  I've been using it for more than a year without any problems.

there is no way to edit your existing contact from Outlook.com app, no problem from web side.

from Outlook.com app, if you go to your address book and try to edit a contact,  fields are not editable, they seems grayed out.

Besides, if you add a person on your address book it ask you where to save it (sim, telephone, gmail etc), there is not Outlook.com app in the list.

I tried also via default web browser (never done before) but I cannot see address book or contacs setting, from the up-left page on the menù it let me choose only Calendar-Outlook.com-OneDrive.
