I want to change the default page after signing out from Outlook.com

Two things. First, we're stuck with MSN as a redirect after logging out of Hotmail/Outlook. BUT, I had the same problem, mine kept redirecting me to the Russian MSN. I simply clicked the little star at the top right corner next to "sign in", and then change the language and content. You can go deeper by actually signing in, and then choosing settings. Once I changed from Russia (incidentally, WHY it changed to Russia I have no idea) back to U.S or Canada, it stayed that way after logging out of Hotmail/Outlook. Although I prefer NOT to be re-directed to MSN, at least this may help some problems for those who want to keep MSN after signing off.

Thanks BurakCeyaln. I have actually tried this many times myself - and have also been told by the sweet, yet notably uninformed, experts here on MickeySoft's payroll - but it does not solve the problem. My details are for New Zealand and I have never been redirected to the NZ MSN homepage.

However, I think I have found the answer!  Is seems to be related to the cache. When you logout of Outlook - and there is no redirect in your cache to an existing MSN homepage - MSN 'kindly' directs you to the homepage of your current ISP location rather than the one in your profile. (So I guess for you, it suggests your 'true' ISP maybe actually based Russia...whether intentionally or unintentionally...).

I worked this out due to my travels. I work in Indonesia so I always get the Indonesia MSN redirect page when logging out at home.  I visited Australia a few months back and, strangely, I still got the Indonesia redirect when I was expecting the Australia MSN. Curious, I decided to do a test and cleared the cache, signed in and out of Outlook and...bingo...the redirect went to the Australia MSN homepage.  When I came back to Indonesia - without clearing the cache - after logging out of Outlook the redirect remained with the Australia MSN homepage.  That stayed the same for weeks until I had to clear the cache for other reasons - and now I am back to Indonesia redirect when I log out of Outlook.  Sort of gives ample evidence the redirect is cache-based on not profile-based. (Why couldn't someone have mentioned that before!)

Anyway, I am not sure why Outlook saves the redirect page in the cache rather than as part of the profile - guess that is the strange logic of MickeySoft for you.  Why can't they simply use the profile - I have no idea. Maybe too hard for them. Afterall Yahoo does this easily enough - you would have thought MickeySoft would be faster to the ball...but then again...

Hey Murray NZ.   When I was in Russia, I ended up with MSN Russia as my re-direct page after signing out of Outlook. Well then why wouldn't it change when I flew back to my home country, or any other country? In fact it never changed before regardless of what country I logged in and out of. Only the one time in Russia, I have travled to many countries since, but it always STAYED that way, until today when I finally found at the top right corner of the the MSN page, - that little round screw looking thing. I clicked it and it gives a drop down menu which reads: change language content, switch to Latino, Customize this page, make MSN my homepage, feedback and help. Not sure if this is a Google Chrome thing, but again, mine never changed in any other country and I travel on cruise ships for a living so the Russia MSN home page was a first. Npw I am in Malaysia and it has not changed. Go figure. BUT, but but but, I DO have another separate problem with Outlook, and that's the fact that even after disabling Skype on my Hotmail, whenever I sign in, I am still ALWAYS connected and signed into Skype. I went into account settings on my Skype, I don't even have the option of connecting my Skype to my Outlook, it just reads "not linked" and doesn't even give me the option to link it or FB. Yet, there it is right there, open and signed in every time I use Outlook. Causes me MAJOR grief because people think I am ignoring them on Skype whenever I have a few fleeting moments to take care of BUSINESS on my Hotmail email account, and they send me messages asking why I am not even saying hi. This particularly happens with family, who then try to start a video call and I don't even have the Skype app open on my computer. It's a pain and I can't get out of it....any help here? Again, on my Skype account it reads "not linked"...yet I am always signed into Skype soon as I sign into my Hotmail/Outlook account...!!! argh...
