How do i prevent the outlook logout from redirecting to msn?

At some point signing out of Outlook started redirecting to MSN. This is really frustrating - especially when accidently clicking anywhere on the screen that is NOT the login field causes the login form to disappear.

How do I disable this redirect? I would like to see the outlook login page when I sign out - not the MSN news page.

    Thank you so much! Switcheroo Redirector is rated highly in the Google Chrome store, and it works (without even a passing blip of stinking MSN).

    The easiest way around this Microsoft Marketing-inspired annoyanceis to:

    1) Add the Favorites Bar to your browser

    2) Add a button to Bing.com..  

    1. Then when you want to sign out of Outlook.com and avoid MSN - Click the Bing button, then sign out of your Microsoft account through Bing.. (upper right corner).

    You could even rename the Bing button on your favorites bar to "Sign out of Outlook"..

    Bryan - Bless you for this easy to follow suggestion for those of us who are not computer geeks! 

    Here is a related tip on the above method. If you happen to keep your email sign in page as a button on your "FAVOURITES bar" in your browser, don't delete it in the excitment of finally finding a way to close your email without going to MSN!

    Keep this button and ADD the Bing button. You need BOTH of them!

    I found this out the hard way when I'd set it up and successfully signed out as Bryan tells us to do. I then tried to sign in at Bing. Yes, Bing opens the usual outlook sign in page for you very nicely alright. But instead of actually opening my email account, it just redirected me back to Bing's homepage and all the pretty pictures again! It's a little loop!

    So as Bryan says, use it to close out your email  - but that's all.

    PS - Bryan - I really liked your idea of calling the Bing button on the favourites bar the "Sign Out of Outlook" button - great for those of us who can be absent minded at times!

    Finally, RELIEF from the endless violence on MSN! 

    Thanks so much for all 82 entries in this thread - I read them all in appreciation and was willing to try even the most advanced geeky ones if it would allow me not to ever see MSN again! But this easy fix of Bryan's was just the best for me! Thanks again.

    It's not that they are not able to, it's just that it's not in the MS best interest. I guess the majority of people don't mind and perhaps a lot of that majority actually read whats on MSN. MSN makes money from paid ads so why not redirect all it's e-mail customers to it's money making site.

    So you can keep holding your breath for MS to cut out it's money making traffic redirecting system, or get an plug-in like LeechBlock for Firefox and control your destiny

    I hardly think the landing page after logout is "random" - it is msn.com.  The content on that page is a random assortment of garbage, when can we get the logout to go back to the login page ?

    I found a way to block the page when you sign out of outlook. I added a 3d party filter to my browser, marked "msn.com" as untrusted. Now the MSN page no longer shows up.
