How do i prevent the outlook logout from redirecting to msn?

At some point signing out of Outlook started redirecting to MSN. This is really frustrating - especially when accidently clicking anywhere on the screen that is NOT the login field causes the login form to disappear.

How do I disable this redirect? I would like to see the outlook login page when I sign out - not the MSN news page.

    there's an easy solution. Use an addon to redirect the MSN url to the one of your liking. I installed Switcheroo Redirector to the Chrome browser. You then add one rule to this addon: you redirect the MSN URL to something else, for example Google.com. Works like a charm

    I don't have a problem at all :)   Have Firefox as my browser and have the button on the Taskbar - click on it when I turn on the pc and it loads up Google.  Outlook is in my Favourites so just click on in to read my mail - I don't tend to log out, but just go to the next on my list of Favourites.

    For all Firefox users:

    1. Install the add-on called LeechBlock.
    2. After you install LeechBlock. Go to Open Menu (horizontal 3 bar button located at the top right of the browser window)

    1. Go to Add-ons

    1. You will now see all the installed add-ons. Click on the Options button for the LeechBlock

    1. You can now set what, how and when to block. Under the "Block Set 1" tab --> "What to Block" enter the domain name "www.msn.com"

    1. Now under the the same "Block Set 1" tab --> "When to Block" . Click on "All Day" and "Every Day" buttons

    1. Now, in this next option you can put you can tell LeechBlock what you would like to redirect the msn site to. If you want to go back to the default Firefox home page, type "about:home" in the URL option. Or you can put any other URL of your liking.

    1. Done !!!!

    Note: LeechBlock has a lot of options for customization. In step 5 of the instruction you can add more URL sites to block. Also you have multiple tabs of Block Sets, so you can add other URL sites to be blocked and forwarded to other sites. In step 6 we set our block to 24/7 every day of the week, but you can change that to your need.

    Also I would recommend installing the Adblock Plus. This will block all the ads, very useful for youtube ad blocking.

    With ABP, AdBlockPlus on Firefox, not only I was able to block the redirection to MSN but it also automatically closes the tab after I sign out! ;D

    With these kind of add-ons, one can have even more control over the web that s/he could even think of! :D

    If you are using Firefox as your browser, and you are familiar with the free add-on called Greasemonkey (which lets you run user scripts in Firefox), I will be glad to post a simple script that re-directs to any site/page you wish ... when you sign out of Outlook.
