How to remove the gray bar on right side of browser after upgrading to Outlook/Hotmail Plus?

The title asks it all I should hope.

I've searched around, but everyone asking about how to remove it are only complaining about not wanting to see ads without paying.  I have paid, and just wonder if the area that once showed the ads can be removed.

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community forum. Yes, you may remove the gray bar on the right side of your Outlook.com page. To do this, please follow the steps below:

  1. Open your Inbox.
  2. Click on the gear icon or the cog wheel located at the upper right part of the page beside your Profile name.
  3. Choose More mail settings.
  4. Under Reading email, click Content from third-party networks.
  5. Under Showing public content, choose Don't show public content from third-party networks.
  6. Click Save.

    Rater than ranting on here, which will do you no good, go to the link Edgar provided and give the appropriate people your feedback. That's the main way to get your message across to Microsoft.

    Personally, I'm happy with the ad bar where it is and don't want it moved. Maybe we can have an option to choose its location.

    Jaewoo Chung, from Falcon Feathers  Perfectly clear..but then I thought we were all the way through. 

    We want to be able to see entire photographs in our e-mail without sliding the bottom bar back and forth.

    We want to be able to read entire sentences without feeling like an old-fashioned typewriting...having to slide that bottom bar back and forth for every single line of writing. How frustrating...and unnecessary.

    If you need them as ads, you could create a whole page listing of our inbox emails subject titles and the ad bar either at the right hand side, or at the bottom.

    THEN...When we click the subject title to open the e-mail, you could then have it become a whole page able to see whole photographs and able to see the entire line of e-mail...without the ad bar on the right hand side.

    An example is your own creation...Microsoft...OUTLOOK...when you click the email, it goes to a new page and the email takes up that entire page.

    Edgar,

    Not to be rude, but clearly, clearly, you did not understand our concerns. Let me spell it out for you since it seems nobody from Microsoft seems to be bothering to read the whole thread.

    a) We DO NOT MIND having an ad bar in outlook. We get it, you need to make money.

    b) We DO CARE about how the ad bar is placed because it makes reading emails difficult. If you didn't notice, the whole point of using Outlook in the first place is to read emails. Not have half the screen taken up by a Messenger bar as per your suggestion.

    c) We want you to MOVE THE BAR so that it is unobtrusive to reading emails. For example, you could move it to the BOTTOM of the page so that we can see the entire horizontal width of our emails.
