How to remove the gray bar on right side of browser after upgrading to Outlook/Hotmail Plus?

Seconded.

I don't think anyone is really arguing the fact that on a free account some advertising is featured. 

But when said feature inconveniences to such a degree that wider emails are actually obscured in certain viewing modes then surely that's the point when you step back and say "You know, there's probably some kind of way we could be doing this better".

We can't stress enough how highly we value your insight regarding the looks of our product. If you're using a regular Microsoft account, its by default that you will see an advertisement when viewing emails unless you upgrade your account to a paid service like Ad-free Outlook.com account.

However, if you are still seeing ads after upgrading your account, we need the following information below in the private message area so we can verify if your account is indeed subscribed to a paid service so we can made some necessary adjustment on our end.

• Affected account in question.
• Does the issue happen when using a different browser or use In-Private browsing?
• Screen shot of the issue.

as an agent of Microsoft, you must have an email account with them (im guessing), so here are some instructions for you to follow:

1. click into the address bar, and clear it. (the box near the top of your browser)
2. Type www.outlook.com
3. Enter your email address+password and continue to log in
4. open an email
5. take a look at the crappy gray bar on the right hand side we are all complaining about.
6. GIVE US A BLOODY ANSWER I'm sorry for the confusion, but Microsoft hires some real geniuses, i tell you.

as ive understood from reading through this thread, you microsoft people dont know what your options are. so ill lay them out.

1. Take the issue to management or web-development within the company and suggest removal of the bar, or the option to place it somewhere else in the same way you can designate with the reading panel.
2. If you cannot help us, just say so. dont carry on with please sir this and whisper this to me etc. the people here are tired of it, not least falcon.

Be a man. tell us in PLAIN ENGLISH what will be done with this complaint. nothing? or something? If you feel uncomfortable with this question, just reply with a 1 or a 2. its ok, ill hold your hand microsoft.
