Original Title:"Contractions of Verb + Not"

The spell check in Outlook 2011 keeps underlining any verb that is contracted with "not."  For example, "can't", "isn't", and so on are all flagged as misspellings.  How can I stop this?

Everyone should send Microsoft feedback to let them know you want this bug fixed.

The more reports they get the higher it gets on the list to be fixed.

    Before you go through all  this "changing identities" business, have you gone to "File," "Options," then "Proofing?" then look for the line, "Writing Style" and select "Settings." Scroll down to "Style" and uncheck "Contractions." Recheck document after and it should no longer flag contractions.

    Fixed in 14.2.5 (Some words will show correctly for some users. Fix might come from an Apple update or a Microsoft update)

    this is definitely an issue within MSOffice for Mac - specifically Outlook.

    In Word, PPT, Excel . . . I can tell the system to "Learn" the word . . . in Outlook, the "Learn" or "Add" function doesn't show up when you right-click the word.

    here's a workaround:

    go to Finder>Library

    (BTW, "Library" no longer shows up in Finder by default in Lion OS - here a fix for that:

    Terminal:  chflags nohidden ~/Library

    go to the Spelling folder, and using a TXT editor, open LocalDictionary.

    you can now enter words manually. (NOTE: this still doesn't fix the lack of "Learn/Add" in Outlook).
