how to disable my messenger auto sign in on Outlook.com

I already read and search frm any ...but still can't solve the problems. Help~~~~ I don't want messenger auto sign in,  how  to turn it off..

As previous suggestions, just click for invisible, but it will also invisible at my Skype software too , I just want to sign out on the Outlook.com mail not the Skype software.

Hi Everyone,

I apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused you on your end. Please be informed though that the option to sign out of Messenger in Outlook.com is not available. Like what the previous moderators have mentioned, the current option that we have is to set your status as invisible. Also, if you are signed onto Windows Live Messenger, you have the option to Sign out from the web, this would disable your Web messenger in the meantime.

Firstly, please don't swear. This is a family forum.

Secondly, the people on this forum, even MVPs, are not employed by Microsoft. We are just ordinary users like you who freely come on here to help other users. Demanding we "fix it" won't help.

Thirdly, I quite like outlook.com but, like you, I don't like the current messenger issue. It's one of the few hassles I have with outlook.com. Microsoft are not likely to see much of what is posted on these forums as they are only for supporting users, but if you use the link below you can leave feedback.

I've simulated my Outlook interface and found out that the steps below turn off Messenger in Outlook.com:

1. Sign in your account.

  1. Go to People or Mail Page.
  2. Click on the human figure symbol and click on Invisible.

    Hm, I'm surprised this is still an issue since I'm seeing threads from like last year complaining about this issue... and now that we're FORCED to use outlook (Which I have absolutely no complaints about, for I personally like the interface) it automatically signs me into messenger. Therefore every time I want to check my email, my messenger gets signed out... which requires me to sign back in after I check my email. Not a huge problem but of course, it gets annoying after doing it many, many times. The going invisible is the worst solution to suggest. That doesn't prevent my msn from getting signed out. Also doesn't prevent it from signing me out of skype either.

    The list goes on with problems right now, wish MSN wouldn't come to an end after having used it so long. Skype/MSN integration is absolutely awful so far. I can't talk to messenger contacts due to massive delays. Fortunately, this is also a problem that's been reported. On the contrary, nothing has been done still. I wish microsoft or whomever it may concern would listen to us and fix these issues or NOT cause them in the first place. These are things which are so simple to fix... hotmail didn't have the first issue. Forcing us to use outlook with automatic sign in causes it. Msn doesn't have delays or anything, forcing us to use skype (I could sort of understand why you wouldn't want to have both msn+skype... but still) when it's not even ready is even worse. Definitely not touching a windows phone/tablet with this kind of current support.

    Well said. Yes, lots of forced 'choices' here, and I totally agree about not using a Windows phone till they can show better customer support to feedback.
