how to disable my messenger auto sign in on Outlook.com

I already read and search frm any ...but still can't solve the problems. Help~~~~ I don't want messenger auto sign in,  how  to turn it off..

As previous suggestions, just click for invisible, but it will also invisible at my Skype software too , I just want to sign out on the Outlook.com mail not the Skype software.

Hi Everyone,

I apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused you on your end. Please be informed though that the option to sign out of Messenger in Outlook.com is not available. Like what the previous moderators have mentioned, the current option that we have is to set your status as invisible. Also, if you are signed onto Windows Live Messenger, you have the option to Sign out from the web, this would disable your Web messenger in the meantime.

Firstly, please don't swear. This is a family forum.

Secondly, the people on this forum, even MVPs, are not employed by Microsoft. We are just ordinary users like you who freely come on here to help other users. Demanding we "fix it" won't help.

Thirdly, I quite like outlook.com but, like you, I don't like the current messenger issue. It's one of the few hassles I have with outlook.com. Microsoft are not likely to see much of what is posted on these forums as they are only for supporting users, but if you use the link below you can leave feedback.

I can see you wish to turn off Messenger in Outlook.com. Let me see how I can help.

I've simulated my Outlook interface and found out that the steps below turn off Messenger in Outlook.com:

1. Sign in your account.

  1. Go to People or Mail Page.
  2. Click on the human figure symbol and click on Invisible.

    Hi Everyone,

    We understand that you want the option to remove the messaging feature on Outlook.com. However, this is a feature incorporated with the product and there is no option to remove it. You can however, set your account to Invisible when signed in with the account.

    It is possible that you acquired these contacts from connected services such as Google, Facebook, etc. That is why the are available via web messenger.

    Hi sorry if this might sound rude!! do you people actually read what we the general user is writing.

    more than once in this thread people have explained why, going invisible is NOT!!!! an option.. We the general use and CUSTOMER!!!!!!!! just want a switch to switch it off..

    I use skype standalone to speak to people all over word besides my family.. If you use the invisible button inside Outlook it also hides you on the stand alone program thats why people also want an OFF! switch..

    please stop cutting and pasting useless answers that DON'T solve the customers problem in first place we know the damned "Hide button" is there, we are not all thick or 3 years old!!

    If you have no contact with Microshit! then why is this forum here in first place,

    If it wasn't for the knowledge of the actual users here it would not be worth looking at..

    all everyone want is the opportunity to turn it off!! most of those asking for that are professional and experienced users..

    It is just an annoying piece of bling bling really, something for all those teenagers and the like to play with, they might want the whole world to know when they open Outlook but we don't.

    as others have said when I go to send or look at an email, why the **** do I want the world to know!!

    that sort of c**p is what facebook is for!!

    Microshit is loosing the plot and alienating people.. and those people are it's customers.. where is the customer care.. would not take long to code in a switch for off with the hide button and send out on an update to fix..

    there endeth my session on the soap box!! will it do any good? of cause not people been saying the above for the last however many years and microshit just continue on regardless they dont care about customer care just"MONEY"
