How do I add a contact to an existing Group in this new Outlook??

I've tried and tried.  The only thing I can do with a group is add, delete, or change its name.  I want to add more contacts.  Was very easy the old hotmail way.

Hi Radio Flyer,

Update May, 2013: We've released some changes this month on how you navigate around the People page. These changes were made to make it more consistent with how your contacts are presented. The Groups' dropdown menu have been removed and Groups have been integrated to your contacts list. Please see screenshot below which I hope clears some of the changes up for you.

NOTE: You can also search for your group by typing the group name in the search box just like searching for a contact.

The next screenshots shows how you can add a group member

After clicking save the screen refreshes and you should see the new member on the right pane.

Hi Jean H.,

I will be glad to assist you with your concern. If you don't want to have your facebook contacts on your Outlook.com account,  you can follow the steps below on how to disable the option.

  1. Log in on your account.
  2. Hover your mouse to the Gear Icon on the top right corner beside your name.
  3. Select Mail more settings.
  4. Under Reading email, select Content from third-party networks.
  5. Under Showing public content, select Don't show public content from third-party networks.
  6. Save

Francesca,  To add a contact:-

go to people, enter group name, select group but leave the check box blank, click Edit

type contact's name in box select from list that appears and save.  Hope this helps

    We are (with others) in the same boat. When we have a large number of groups with many contacts in a group, there is a need for a genuine manage group function. The absurdity is that it was there in Hotmail, and for me was briefly there (and enhanced) in outlook, but then suddenly disappeared.

    My workaround is the best I have dreamed up!. Renaming groups to put them back together and using the Nickname to show what other groups a contact is in.

    Will consider anything.

    Have looked again at the People activity - it is so illogical that it has to be a knee jerk reaction to something. My guess is performance.

    I was aware that many people received e-mails from me that should not have (having deleted them from a group). I thought it was me - I sent out apologies!! Must be a latency issue.

    I cannot believe Microsoft can produce such a rubbish product - it's not like it's highly innovative.

    If Microsoft's strategy is to produce a broad based (many functions) product, but with limited functionality within each function, then generally there is an add on to enrich a particular function.

    Is there a Microsoft product that integrates with 'People' that provides this functionality and more? 

    I really do not want to develop an MS Access system just for my use.

    Again, no response from Microsoft. There must be Microsoft employees out there who agree with our comments.

    Failing that, is it possible to get the name/e-mail address of the relevant product manager.
