I've tried and tried.  The only thing I can do with a group is add, delete, or change its name.  I want to add more contacts.  Was very easy the old hotmail way.

Hi Radio Flyer,

Update May, 2013: We've released some changes this month on how you navigate around the People page. These changes were made to make it more consistent with how your contacts are presented. The Groups' dropdown menu have been removed and Groups have been integrated to your contacts list. Please see screenshot below which I hope clears some of the changes up for you.

NOTE: You can also search for your group by typing the group name in the search box just like searching for a contact.

The next screenshots shows how you can add a group member

After clicking save the screen refreshes and you should see the new member on the right pane.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have follow up questions.

Thanks

Hi Jean H.,

I will be glad to assist you with your concern. If you don't want to have your facebook contacts on your Outlook.com account,  you can follow the steps below on how to disable the option.

  1. Log in on your account.
  2. Hover your mouse to the Gear Icon on the top right corner beside your name.
  3. Select Mail more settings.
  4. Under Reading email, select Content from third-party networks.
  5. Under Showing public content, select Don't show public content from third-party networks.
  6. Save

If you have further question, let us know.

Thank you.

This was a response under a thread I started about removed contacts still being e-mailed

Regarding your concern, you've mentioned that you created a new list instead which stopped the old - address from being used in the group - as a workaround. If this is the case, there would be no further steps other than to delete the original group and create a new one. Apologies for the incovenience.

    Thank you,

    Jonathan

    my reply was :-

Johnathan_V,     I am astonished that you find a work around an acceptable solution to a problem that should not exist.  So,  every time I have to remove someone from a group I will have to make an entirtely new list in order to eliminate that 1 contact !

I started the other thread on March 26  the replies above were 'private'  I wonder why?

here we are in June and still no solution other than what I had worked out for myself

as regards simply adding a contact to a group in the current version of outlook you have to do the following:-

select the group don't check the box

click on edit and start typing the name in the box and select the contact from the list that appears.  Hope this helps

    Tim
