I reported two phishing scams to Outlook by clicking on the drop down "report phishing scam" in the Outlook mail app. Where does the phish e-mail go and is it reported to the genuine company, in this case a bank? Also, why can't a suspicious e-mail be forwarded to a reporting agency without opening it and exposing my computer and possibly my contact list to the bad guys?

Even the parent system was tried, many times reporting junk/phishing email comes back as:
"No mail exchanger. Email to this address would bounce.
Cannot resolve admin@ xxxxx.xxxx
No valid email addresses found, sorry!"
This must take a great deal of talent, aggravating the crap out of nearly everyone, and I have wondered what if all of the 'accounts' of concern could be netted and thus controlled, in one network once validated? Would that put too many software engineers out of work?
JUNK MAIL: I flushed this morning alternating between Phish and Block. Now (2215) I sit here looking at 106 contenders in the Junk folder. This is a war of wills. Microsoft should lock in a special place in hell for the creators of this trash and it's
onslaught on the community. We should be able at our level to assign to a special junk archive file, boink them to it and enjoy a never to return Junk Mail future. Better, zero in on address and block from cyberspace. Give up a break here!
Many of the emails in my junk 'appear' to come from my own email address, so I can't 'block' them and can only mark them as 'phishing', which doesn't appear to help reduce their numbers. I've now created a folder marked 'spam' so I can quickly shove them in there and deal with them later!

Thanks. How long did it take SPAMCOP to stop the junk emails after you put the offenders email address in the process box...roughly? r/tom
Tom,
E-mails from the main offenders dropped within about three weeks. In addition to the SpamCop reports, I used the contact addresses generated via SpamCop to forward the spam e-mails directly to the ISP's.
Are SpamCop reliable? It seems that in the past few days since I've been reporting spam to them, my spam has increased! Why would that be?
