I reported two phishing scams to Outlook by clicking on the drop down "report phishing scam" in the Outlook mail app. Where does the phish e-mail go and is it reported to the genuine company, in this case a bank? Also, why can't a suspicious e-mail be forwarded to a reporting agency without opening it and exposing my computer and possibly my contact list to the bad guys?

I've spent hours adding rules with specific keywords from the subject lines, sender domains, and bodies of the emails and they still keep coming back. The system is not user-friendly and quite frankly, doesn't work. It seems to be in place to pacify the user that maybe, just maybe, something might be getting done on the other end.
When we (the users) click on "phishing scam," the unwanted email is transferred into our Junk Mail box. There is a message that pops up saying, "Thanks for reporting. Reporting phishing scams helps keep your information and others' information safe." In no way do I have any confidence that this system does anything to research and resolve our issues with these phishing scams because the messages keep showing up. The only difference is that they show up in our Junk Mail instead of our Inbox and if you go to Create Rules to set the system to automatically delete these messages, they STILL keep showing up in our Junk Mail box. This leads me to believe that Microsoft has a huge glitch in their security/filtering systems or they have been paid money by the phishers to override what filtering system they have in place. It doesn't work and it's a huge inconvenience to the users.
That doesn't answer the question. What does "reporting as phishing" actually do? If we had to block every spam email it would take up way too much time.
don't know what's wrong with my junk mail box, but i've had 0 to 2 per day for the last 2 weeks, when i used to be flooded ???
