Hotmail Virus sending me spam from my own email

I seem to have a Virus in my email that is sending me spam emails from my own email address.

I use a chrome book so it doesn't have anti virus to sweep with.

I can't block the emails as they are from myself and hotmail says i am in my own contacts.  I have changed my email password and there are no forwarding addresses but it is still happening.

What should I do?

    I just started receiving spam emails from my own email address. When I try to block the emails, I get an error message saying I can't block my own email address!! How can someone use my email address??? Is there a way I can stop this? Very frustrating!!!!

    Someone is spoofing your address, which is extremely easy. I could do it if I wanted to and I knew your address. You'll need to use some criteria other than the From address in a rule.

    Hi Brian,

    Thanks for the reply. This just started :( I'm receiving some filthy emails from spammers using my own email address. Can you tell me how I can fix it? I ran a virus check on my computer and it came back clean.

    Any help you can provide is appreciated.

    Hello,

    I also have been receiving messages that look like they're from my email address. It is obvious that it is email spoofing, but Outlook says "You can't block your own email address" when I try to block them. Is there another way to report these messages? Where can I send you the extra information from the emails to have this looked into?

    This exactly what happens to me.

    What is strange is that the Hotmail Spam Filter knows it is junk and sends it to the Junk Folder.

    I have heard nothing from Microsoft or Outlook as to how this can be prevented.

    I do not know if this is a Flaw in the Hotmail/Outlook Email system that allows this 'Porn Like' Headings to be sent with what I guess is a very dangerous link in the email?
