Hotmail Virus sending me spam from my own email

I seem to have a Virus in my email that is sending me spam emails from my own email address.

I use a chrome book so it doesn't have anti virus to sweep with.

I can't block the emails as they are from myself and hotmail says i am in my own contacts.  I have changed my email password and there are no forwarding addresses but it is still happening.

What should I do?

    Hi Audrey_P

    I am experiencing the same problems like KacieBlake. (Some of my contacts and myself get a spoofmail) I have also already done the steps which were provided by Eugene S. and am still receiving spam email, which is sent from my account.

    Could i also send you the full message source of the spam?

    I am also being the victim of this. how can this be rectified. 

    kindly givew me a solution i have been a paid user of microsoft subsriptions and these spams are really annoying.

    It is impossible to prevent someone from sending messages using your address as the sender.  The sender and recipient addresses you see in email are just strings of characters.  You can use any string you want without affecting the true sender and recipient.  Spammers use the recipient address as the sender address as well because most people don't or can't block their own address.

    Receiving this type of message in no way indicates your account has been compromised, by the way.  If the messages arrive in the Inbox, mark them as junk.  You might want to try creating a rule to handle common strings in the subject or body, but that's not usually all that effective.  If the messages arrive in the Junk folder already, then simply ignore them, since the junk filter is working as it should keeping them out of your Inbox.

    It's common to see spam that appears to come from your own address.  That's no indication whatsoever that your PC or your Outlook.com account have been compromised.  Only if you see the messages in your Sent folder is it proof your account was compromised.
