Hotmail Virus sending me spam from my own email

I seem to have a Virus in my email that is sending me spam emails from my own email address.

I use a chrome book so it doesn't have anti virus to sweep with.

I can't block the emails as they are from myself and hotmail says i am in my own contacts.  I have changed my email password and there are no forwarding addresses but it is still happening.

What should I do?

    Hi I seem to be getting loads of email spoofing on my account. I also get the odd email apparently sent from myself. Please help as it's driving me bonkers!!

    There's nothing anyone can do about mail spoofing.

    I have had the same problem for years now, blocking doesn't work for my own email, rules don't work, filters don't work.

    I found the solution : move to GMAIL.

    The issue can actually be stopped by MSFT if they took security seriously.   They can stop someone spoofing email to a MSFT mail server by preventing a MSFT email being the source.  Moving to GMAIL is definitely the way to go!

    If they did that, then no Microsoft address would ever be able to send mail to another Microsoft address.
