    Suneola,

No new developments that I am aware of.

To get rid of the ads on the right side of your outlook.com inbox, I suggest that you use a free Ad blocker (that works with the browser you use).

If you use Firefox or Chrome, I recommend the free add-on called Webmail Ad Blocker. Note that there are separate versions for Chrome and for Firefox ... be sure to install the version that corresponds to the browser(s) you use.

    Hi

The messages sent to you are about 4 years old... Dont you think its time to remove the ads and give the people using outlook the request they are asking for... ITS BEEN FOUR YEARS... GIVE US THE OPPORTUNITY TO REMOVE THE ADS AT OUR CHOICE.... GIVE US MORE CHOICES.... ONE MORE THING GIVE US AN EASIER CHOICE TO USE THE ONE CALENDAR SO IT DOESNT SYNC TO EVERY DEVICE...  OUR PRIVACY IS GOING AWAY MORE AND MORE.... DONT YOU AGREE?????????????????????

There is an easy way to remove the side bar.  Here are the steps:

    1. While in Hotmail or Outlook, click on the wheel at the top right near your name.
    2. Select "Options"
    3. Click on "Active view settings".  This is under "Reading email" near the bottom of the page.
    4. Select "Hide previews" under "Do you want to see previews?" and click "Save"
