Absolutely useless for simple mailing like mine.

Typical modern change for changes sake.

If it ain't broke, don't mend it.

Original Hotmail was fine - why the need to change it?

I loathe the sidebar ads. particularly.

If I want something I'll look for it myself.

Think it's simpler just to change to another mailing provider.

I agree 100% about their greed.  I'm also hesitant to change e-mails.

I also do not like the side bar on outlook screen and most people I help have asked me to remove this feature. It should have an option to Opt in Opt out, Bad choice of features!

    David

The sidebar cant be removed but the ads can be by using a popup blocker.  Also in Firefox you can use NoScript which blocks all scripting (helps in Malware)

After many emails between the moderators and me, the sidebar was finally removed from my email.  I had posted my complaint on different forums hoping that someone would finally help me.

I have a paid account (Hotmail Plus) and didn't think I should have to put up with the sidebar, since it is a way of advertising.

A moderator asked me to privately send a "screen shot" of what I saw on my computer screen.  It took a while to figure out how to do this, but I did it.

About a week later, my sidebar disappeared!  Yippee!!

In the meantime, before my sidebar was removed, I figured out that I could double click on the message in my inbox preview pane and get a full screen.  However, it just took more time to do this.  Or, I clicked on the little arrow pointing left at the top of the email message and that worked too.

Hopefully, Microsoft will see the error of their ways and remove this sidebar for everyone, or people will vote with their clicks and get rid of the new Outlook.
