All this information gathering is totally unnecessary. If Hotmail worked without problems with what ever browser was being used and Outlook does not, then the problems are due to changes made by Microsoft - not by its users.

I've used the same XP pc to access Hotmail (3 accounts) for the last two years with few problems and not one instance of the "We can't connect to Outlook at the moment," message.

My advice, stop asking questions; you made, you fix it. And next time you make changes, fix it before you throw it into the ring.

In any reply, please post a link to the "Claims for Outlook Software Testers" page so that I can send in my claim.

Browser: Chrome (kept up to date)

Since Hotmail was "upgraded" to "Outlook" the reliability of connection to the servers has simply COLLAPSED. To the extent that, after using Hotmail as a primary email account for at least 15 years, I intend to bail out and transfer to Gmail. The occasional problem (infrequent in the past) might be acceptable. The current ABOMINABLE and continual unreliability makes Outlook simply useless.

I find it hard to believe that this problem continues to persist so long after it first appeared. As a retired IT professional I would have been fired if an application under my management manifested gross unreliability for such a protracted time.

Ironically in the past I have frequently recommended Hotmail/Outlook to my contacts on the basis of the clean interface and long term stability of the service. Egg on face. Currently I would suggest using even Yahoo (Yahoo!) in preference.

I am using up to date browsers and have a good computer. The problem is with microsoft, not our browsers.

Totally fed up with outlook now, it's completely unreliable and just wastes everybody's time because it is unusable.

clearing browser cache does absolutely nothing nor does anything else you so say have told us to do.  The problem is patently with microsoft outlook itself.  Hotmail so say changed to outlook as it was "better"  IT IS NOT........... you keep posting things for people to "try" how about you fix it so we don't spend hours sat trying to get our emails or send our emails and waiting for it to stop saying  we cannot connect to outlook at the moment, please try later.   THIS NEVER HAPPENED WHEN IT WAS HOTMAIL............ this outlook is a crock of shite
