When I sign into my account I cannot see my inbox.

I get the Microsoft account page containing the Overview, Notifications etc, but cannot see any way to access my emails.

Okay, I had the same issue since December and I had not changed anytghing myself.  I researched and could not find any answers from Microsoft. I got really feed up.

Finally I looked at any updates I had in Decemeber anf found in December I had 3 updates dated the 6th /10th and 18th December.

I rolled back to the 6th earliest date and hey presto it fixed the issue.  What really surprises me is that Microsoft are unaware what impact their updates are having and would like to know what testign goes into their updates.

Next problem is that my computers are setup to download automatically for obviously security reasons but how can I trust their will be no other issues,.

Recently another security update caused a huge impact on a service I provide for a client (yes I am IT provider).  This cost us money for loss of service.

    Frustrated massiviliy.

    Hi Sylvia,

I understand your frustration with regards to being unable to access your emails. Let me assist you with your concern.

Please be informed that Policy bar is a prompt/interrupt that detects customers that have not verified any  security proofs (i.e. alternate email address and/or mobile phone) in the account within the last 6 months. The interrupt is experienced upon sign in.

Customers will be given an option to skip this process for 7 days but if customer failed to verify the account after this period, they will be locked out from accessing  the account. The customer is required to comply and verify it by updating the  security information on the account. For more information why do you need to add security information, you may visit this **link**.

The nature of your issue may contain personal or sensitive information of your account that can't be  discussed in the forum, I suggest that this be addressed through a secured  environment for your privacy and ease of access to our moderator's reply. Please go to this **link** to get help on your issue.

    Your patience is highly appreciated.

    Thank you!

Wow, JR_N... This was THE MOST HELPFUL post on this whole forum I would say. Just one question: once your account is locked what can you do got unlock it?

    Thanks!

    Hello Experts:

a few days ago my movil device was stolen so i started changing all my passwords. in the case of my microsoft account i tried to change the password but had forgoten even the email i used as alternate. so i setup another one... i now remember that old alternate email and am able to receive information like codes and things. but my email is blocked and can only show manage account settings, not my actual inbox.

I went looking for answers and saw an option in a microsoft page where i put some information like my name, recent email whom i have been communicating, subjects etc,,, and have to wait for 24 hours im up to it but since an email regarding flying tickets is there if the would be another way to do it.

i received a code following this format xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx is this code helpful to unblock my account and see my emails.

Thank you for any help i may receive.

ill be checking since i may not be able to receive a notification.

    Hi Marco,

Account related issues are usually dealt in such secure manner especially now. Microsoft have made the process to recover an account much more stringent and only the original owner of the account will be able to access his/her account if they provide the details when they fill the form. The code that you have received will help you recover your account.

Please have a look at this article. Here is another great articleon why accounts gets blocked and how to recover it. This are just meant for additional information as you have already gone through the steps and got the conformation code.

If you need any further assistance. Please do not hesitate. We will be here to help you out.

Same problem as everyone else - hotmail, but no other email I use, is demanding personal identifying information, and then even when I eneter it I can't access my inbox. What the f? I've read through the info on this page, there's still no answer that makes clear sense, and that's unacceptable. Deleting this hotmail account as soon as I can notify my contacts not to use the hotmail account any more.
