When I sign into my account I cannot see my inbox.

I get the Microsoft account page containing the Overview, Notifications etc, but cannot see any way to access my emails.

Came across this exact problem a few minutes ago... So freaking disturbing! Randomly, i figured it out, so i hope this is going to be helpful. (Btw, i m not a computers expert or anything so i m clueless about the "valid", proper terms). When you have been through the whole process of verifying (over and over) your passwords, and your Microsoft - Account page appears, you click on the Home tab, then on the image (the personal one that you have selected, found next to the "Hi, (username)" ). On the top left of your screen there's a blue space with the word Profile. On its left there's a tab formed by many small pieces. You click on that. After that, you click on Outlook.com, which is the first choice of the ones that emerge. And, eventually, you do have access to your email.

Describe step-by-step exactly how you configured the account on the iPad. If you can send a message, then you MUST be able to access the account. You can't see messages on the home screen or send messages unless you can.
