Why Does Outlook automatically log me in without my email address and password?

Yeah it is really unnerving to be automatically logged to the e mail  on as soon as you start your computer.

Where is the security in that?

I have yet to find a way to stop it.

Of course it can be shut off, but it always pops back on again.

A major security flaw in 8.1 for sure.

I hope someone can find a way to get this to stop.

May be the "brain trust" at MS can solve this.

But I doubt it based on what I have seen so far dealing with other MS problems.

I NEVER use Outlook e mail for anything except to come here and complain.

(like it really does any good)

It is just blank/ empty with nothing in it.

For all my e mail communications and it works perfect every time.

I am very happy with it.

Its not when i turn it on,,it is when i click on outlook it goes straight to my inbox,,anyone using my computer can get into my inbox  my windows 7,always asks me for it.

Yeah mine will do that also.

I have no clue how to stop it from happening.

This is not my idea of security.

My old Vista never did this.

Actually I had very few problems with Vista.

But this 8.1 has been baffling.

Plus the mess I ran into with Outlook has made my new computer a minefield of problems.

My old Hotmail worked just fine since 2002 and I guess, like many others here, I became over dependent on it and never thought it would just fall apart like it did.

I guess nothing good lasts forever.

Ron, creating separate Windows user accounts is not a solution.  I have 4 family members using the two computers.  I have a NAS for my files.  If I set up 4 users, I have to then establish all of the Libraries for each user to point to the NAS on each computer.  Then I have to set up each desktop and taskbar correctly to show the programs.  Then when I go into the Word, Excel..., I would have to point to the NAS for each to set as a favorite location.  To do this 4 times for each computer is not the right solution.  I actually tried it.  What a mess!  On some of the users I can't even get the Library set up to point to the NAS because it says it can't do it because the folder isn't indexed... WHAT A HASSLE! 

Also, if one user is logged on, switching to another user takes time.  Another HASSLE.  I would think it would be fast, but it is not. 

If one user is logged on, and someone wants to access their Outlook.com and uses IE, that person can't even get to a sign on page!  So the solution is to use Chrome!!! 

Do Microsoft employees look at these posts?  Is anyone going to respond to this and tell all of us how to fix it?  This is unbelievable.  Who can address this?

But what I want to add is I have at least one or two times a day where it want do it . I do not know if I did something different or if it was something through Microsoft or internet explorer .If it is something I did maybe I can catch it  and hope to help solve this problem .Thank you all for posting .
