Why Does Outlook automatically log me in without my email address and password?

I don't understand why you marked my previous reply as the answer when obviously, it did not solve your problem.  Please return to this thread and click "Unmark it" just below my previous reply.  In the future, please do not mark responses as answers unless they actually solve your problem.

If you're using Windows 8, did you elect to use your Microsoft ID and password as the Start screen credentials?  If so, that's probably why.  When you log into Windows, you are authenticating to Windows Live/Hotmail/Outlook.com

When I purchased this new computer, I used my Bell Aliant email address to initiate service with a different password. When I shut my computer down completely and then it comes back on, my Bellaliant email address is shown on the screen and I have to type a password in to initiate Windows. I did not use anything Hotmail/Outlook related whatsoever to log into Windows, I used my Bell Aliant email address and created a brand new password just for Windows.  I don't know what else could be causing it. Even when my spouse goes to log into his Outlook, he clicks on the Outlook icon or even uses Outlook.com in the URL, as soon as he hits enter from there, it automatically logs ME in instead and does not give him the option to sign in.  He has to physically log me out from that screen, and only then does it display the screen where you have to enter your email address and password.

Sky Drive??? I have no idea what that even is. I was talking about one of the previous responses that asked me what address I use to log my computer in. As far as a Microsoft account log in, do you mean did I create a new log in to access this page for help?  I don't use Skydrive, as I said, I am not familiar with that. I don't know what else to say. Basically I had no issues at all until my Hotmail was changed to Outlook.  I have had nothing but problems with it since. I wish they would have just left things alone and given us the option to change or not to change.  Not impressed right now.

When I set up my computer for the first time as new, I logged into it as the Computer Administrator and had to enter an email address and create a password. I used my Bell Aliant email address and password to set myself up online as the Administrator. I did not have to do anything with my Hotmail when I bought the new computer. I simple typed Hotmail.com into the URL at the top of the screen and logged into my email as per usual. When I tried just now to log into Microsoft.com I just used my Hotmail email address and password, and it asked me to verify my account by accepting a "Text" from Microsoft to my cell phone. I did just that, it sent me a text with a number that I had to type into my computer to verify that the account was mine. That's all I did to verify my Microsoft account.

The only way I am correcting it now, is when I click on the icon and it automatically logs me in, I sign out and have to log in again.

When you go to login again is Keep me signed in checked?

Are you clicking the shortcut to log in again?

When I go to log out, the check mark is not in "Keep Me Logged In" and I am not using the icon to log in again I am using the same page that you get after you log out where it shows a little blue window that says "Sign In".  This is crazy huh?? Like previously mentioned, I can completely shut down my system and have to press the power button on my tower to turn the computer back on, The Windows 8 Log in Screen comes up with my Bell Aliant email address on it and an empty space for me to type my password, which is totally seperate from Outlook. Once Windows opens, my Desktop (the same as Windows XP was) comes up and I have the usual icons like my Outlook, Webmail-Bell Aliant, My Documents etc. stuff you would normally use on a day to day basis. I really don't know what else to check within my system.  I guess if I log the system on and like you said have to log out and back in again, I have to live with that.  I just don't like that if anyone sits in front of my computer and clicks on my Outlook icon, they are gaining access to my email account without having to enter a password. Thanks for all the input folks, just not sure what else to do to correct this issue.
