Why Does Outlook automatically log me in without my email address and password?

Hi there,

Why does Outlook automatically log me into my Email without me having to type my email address or password?  When I turn my computer on, I go to my Desktop and click on the Outlook icon to open up my email.  It is logging me into that email without me even having to enter my password information, and quite frankly, I find this very unsettling. This means that anyone who uses my computer once it is turned on, can access my email without my permission. How can I correct this so Outlook asks me to enter my email address and password each time I want to log into my email?  Thanks.

Annette Sullivan

Yeah it is really unnerving to be automatically logged to the e mail  on as soon as you start your computer.

Where is the security in that?

I have yet to find a way to stop it.

Of course it can be shut off, but it always pops back on again.

A major security flaw in 8.1 for sure.

I hope someone can find a way to get this to stop.

May be the "brain trust" at MS can solve this.

But I doubt it based on what I have seen so far dealing with other MS problems.

I NEVER use Outlook e mail for anything except to come here and complain.

(like it really does any good)

It is just blank/ empty with nothing in it.

    I use thexyz

For all my e mail communications and it works perfect every time.

I am very happy with it.

Thanks Charles!  I thought maybe there was a setting I overlooked.  However, what you said mirrors my sentiments.  As does p brooks reply as well.

I have been having the same problem since/about 11/17/13  with 2 other emails address . I do not use msn .I have even restored my computer 2 times and it works good for 2 or 3 days .I assume it may have something to do with some updates from maybe Microsoft or internet explorer .When I looked into the programs installed on the day it starts to mess up Microsoft has installed a large number of updates .In the past when  Microsoft had similar problems they did not seem to be aware of it  .

I do not know were it came from  but I would also like this issue to be corrected  .Thank you for posting this problem .
