Why Does Outlook automatically log me in without my email address and password?

Hi there,

Why does Outlook automatically log me into my Email without me having to type my email address or password?  When I turn my computer on, I go to my Desktop and click on the Outlook icon to open up my email.  It is logging me into that email without me even having to enter my password information, and quite frankly, I find this very unsettling. This means that anyone who uses my computer once it is turned on, can access my email without my permission. How can I correct this so Outlook asks me to enter my email address and password each time I want to log into my email?  Thanks.

Annette Sullivan

Along with the fact I can't cancel my outlook account, I have this same problem.

I have only been fighting it for only 14 days and already feel burned out.

If I ever do get rid of this Outlook account, I will never have another Outlook e mail account EVER again.

When you log in, the email pops up without requiring a log on.

I can not figure out how to keep this from happening.

I have the "wonderful" 8.1 now that I dislike so much, but it came with the new computer so there was no choice other than a down grade to Vista which sounds like a good idea as I have had soooo many problems since I got this computer with 8.1.

So now I don't use Outlook e mail at all except only to access just this MSN site here.

I use a separate e mail provider for ALL other  e mail.

I have found lots of suggestions here, but very few if any answers to the problems I have been having with outlook.

I had MSN.com E mail since 2002 with no problem.

But since it switched to Outlook and 8.1 everything has gone to #$%$^&.

I'm using windows 8.1.  I have the same problem.  When I go to the Oulook.com sign in, it automatically logs me in.  I have deleted all histories.  I can't stop it.  I removed the credentials and it still happens.

Is your Windows user account password protected?
