Why Does Outlook automatically log me in without my email address and password?

This is because your email has been fused to windows. Your device is now listed as a "trusted device". This is applied to any new device that is purchased and requires an email to activate. To stop this from happening and activate a manual login, you must go to your Microsoft settings at https://www.microsoft.com. Sign in and proceed to finding the settings for Security. The new website layout will then ask you to click on the "more security settings" option. My account asks for a confirmation identity code that sends it to another e-mail or in a text message to my phone. After the additional settings pop up, scroll to the very bottom and you should see "Trusted Devices" 2nd from the bottom. Clear the trusted devices and your problem has now been fixed.

It is because any new device is automatically listed as a trusted device and trusted devices avoid the safety protocols of having to sign in with an email and password every time to access your inbox. This will prevent any device you have used that is labeled as "trusted", so if there was a device you wanted to avoid a login, you will now have to log back in to that device and click the "keep me signed in" checkbox or reactivate it as a trusted device from the devices own settings.

Just so you know, this is only a fix for Internet Explorer. If the reason the person would like to be asked for their login information is to secure it from others, then this will not stop someone from accessing their email.  I could simple go into a different web browser and access the email inbox automatically. If the person would like the account to be totally secure on the device, they will need to remove the device as a trusted device from the Microsoft account by going through outlook's safety and security settings.

I have been trying to fix this too and finally accomplished it.  You go up to the right hand side and click on the icon that looks like a wheel.  On the bottom of what comes up is the word help.  click on that then find the sentence about log in and password problems.  Then when it offers you to reset your password do just that.  Once I changed mine I no longer had my e-mail pop up on my work computer so that everyone could read my e-mails without putting in my log in information.  Yea!!!  Hope this works for you. 

So, when you did this, you had to change your default password for your Microsoft account, right? Which, in turn, changes the password for all applications (computer login, messenger, Skype, etc.)? Has anyone found a way to disable the autologin WITHOUT changing the current password? Thank you.

Yeah, I have the same problem. I don't understand why the e mail automatically logs on when I start Windows 8. So far I have been unable to figure out how to make it stop doing this. I would guess there is a way but I have not found it yet.

So I don't use the outlook e mail at all, except to come here and complain.

My real e mail account that I use for everything everyday is an account at thexyz

It works fantastic and would never use Outlook again, and I don't.

Here is something else, MS encourages you to make all these Outlook e mail accounts, but did you know that you CAN'T close them once made?

So why is that a problem?

Here is why.

If you are ever targeted for harassment or worse, you can't shut your outlook e mail off.

You are helpless to get it closed down.

And if you are ever hacked into you are really in trouble.

Also if you should ever get locked out, you have to wait 30 days to get back in to it.

If you are using Outlook for important work or business, you are really in trouble.

It is MSNs dirty little secret they don't want you to know about.

Just read the posts here and see what people are going through because of this.

I would never use MS e mail for anything, ever again.

I am concerned over the same problem, but mine is with Windows 7. Same situation completely. It amazes me Annette that despite your patience and your clear statement of the problem you cannot get a definitive solution. After being force fed Outlook this seems to be a major security flaw.
