Why Does Outlook automatically log me in without my email address and password?

Thank you for responding. I just purchased a new laptop that has windows 10 and I am using microsoft edge for the internet explorer. Outlook.live.com is the website that it opens no matter what internet browser I am using. I downloaded chrome, and it still signed directly into my email box after I clicked the sign in button. I erased my browsing history, including passwords and it still logs me directly into my email inbox. I can not get this computer to stop from completely logging into my email when I open the outlook website.

Just to clarify, please answer the following

• Are you also accessing your Outlook emails using the Outlook website (http://outlook.com)?
• If you're accessing your Outlook email using the Outlook website, what web browser are you using? (Examples of web browser: Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, etc.)

If you're using any of the web browsers, you will be to see the "Keep me signed in" check box when you are logging in to the website. After you enter your Microsoft account, it will ask you for a password. On that page you will see the "Keep me signed in" check box. Please refer to the screenshot below:

If you have the same concern as the original poster, you can resolve this by clearing your browser data or by resetting your browser's settings. If you're using Microsoft Edge, you can clear your browsing data by following the steps found on this link. If you're using Internet Explorer, it's best to reset your Internet Explorer's settings. To do this, follow the steps found in this article.

Hi Brian. I have searched my account settings for the checkbox that you described and I can not find it. Could you please be more specific as to where that check box is? maybe take a screenshot or 2? I would greatly appreciate it. I am using windows 10. Thank you.

Why does Outlook automatically log me into my Email without me having to type my email address or password?  When I turn my computer on, I go to my Desktop and click on the Outlook icon to open up my email.  It is logging me into that email without me even having to enter my password information, and quite frankly, I find this very unsettling. This means that anyone who uses my computer once it is turned on, can access my email without my permission. How can I correct this so Outlook asks me to enter my email address and password each time I want to log into my email?  Thanks I followed the new Microsoft 10. instructions closely, using my original

How wonderful, the simple task of getting in to my new "Microsoft 10" Email is in its

third Day! An old EMail which worked for years, "10" came highly recommended by

you! ******@hotmail.com is

Your computer (or device) is being saved as a "trusted device". If you prefer to be prompted to sign in with a password, you need to go into your outlook settings for security and privacy; close to the bottom of the page will be an option to remove all trusted devices. Any device listed as a trusted device will negate the sign-in process. If you need more of an explanation, go to my previous post from this thread on September 17th, 2015, and it will have a longer step-by-step process for removing trusted devices.
