Outlook.com Font keeps changing

I am using Outlook.com on Windows 7 (SP1) and IE10 (with latest update.)

Language is set to English UK.

The font keeps changing when I send an email.

No matter what font and size I use this problem occurs.

I type an email and it looks fine and then I send it.

However, when I see it in the sent folder, the font on some lines or paragraphs has changed - normally to a smaller size.

If I paste anything from a Word Document, the problem is even worse.

I have sent myself emails from Outlook.com using another account and email client to receive them and the emails look terrible and very unprofessional.

I have tried every solution suggested on the internet clear IE temporary files etc. uninstall Silverlight - but to no avail.

I have used Google Chrome browser - same problem.

Until I can resolve this, I am using eM Client software to send and received my outlook.com emails.

Is anyone aware of this problem please and any potential solutions.

Thank you.

Is it a problem only experienced by those using old hotmail addresses? I had understood that people using outlook.com addresses came across this issue too.

It has also been suggested to me that the combination of outlook.com with safari/mac is an inherently unhappy one, i.e. that it is an issue restricted to strange people like me who use a mac but would like to continue using outlook.com for email.

Whatever it seems like a solvable issue given the will.   I can't go on with it as it is though much longer.

I've been dealing with this **** for SO LONG it seems that either only a handful of people raised this issue which seems bizarre or that not too many people still use hotmail.

to switch an email address for me would be disastrous. for my business and my friends/family.

I would love to get a hold of someone at Outlook, send them an original email and explain to them that the email was sent with ONLY ONE FONT SIZE IN BLACK. because when they get my email and see some lines that are tiny and/or light grey and HUGE ones in black , they will know the frustration that we all face.

why are they sweeping this under the rug?

Thanks for the reply.  You're right  there doesn't seem to be much interest in this from Microsoft (hello? anybody out there?).  I think I might have to move to Gmail - which actually is a pity since there's a lot I like, and am used to, in the outlook.com features. I use the calendar, OneDrive, OneNote Online etc and have got used to the layouts.  But randomly changing font is not acceptable.

I am having this problem (and also posted on a related thread) except that the font changes are not visible when I am composing an email - or even when viewing the email in my 'sent' folder.  It is only when the recipient views the messages that random changes in font size are visible.  Also, sometimes some of the message is in grey even though in my settings the colour is set to black.  Any idea why this is happening?  It is very frustrating since it gives the impression to the recipient that I am emphasising random words by increasing their size - and I don't even know which ones because when I am composing the message it all looks a uniform size.

I am using Safari 6.2 on a Mac btw.

I've reported this problem in at least one other thread.  I, too, experience differences in shading of characters.  I'm surprised, though, that you don't see these (and the other problems -- font/font size variations, multiple blank lines between paragraphs, etc.) in the 'sent' versions of your emails.

Noting how long ago these issues were reported in this thread and the typical response of the outlook.com 'team,' my recent decision to cut my use of outlook.com down to the bare minimum seems even wiser than I had thought.  There is no discernible determination to fix problems.  It appears that Microsoft considers it sufficient to 'act interested' and do nothing.

Even its 'interest' amounts to nothing more than one or at most two 'standard' replies, after which the matter is simply dropped.
