Outlook.com Font keeps changing

I am using Outlook.com on Windows 7 (SP1) and IE10 (with latest update.)

Language is set to English UK.

The font keeps changing when I send an email.

No matter what font and size I use this problem occurs.

I type an email and it looks fine and then I send it.

However, when I see it in the sent folder, the font on some lines or paragraphs has changed - normally to a smaller size.

If I paste anything from a Word Document, the problem is even worse.

I have sent myself emails from Outlook.com using another account and email client to receive them and the emails look terrible and very unprofessional.

I have tried every solution suggested on the internet clear IE temporary files etc. uninstall Silverlight - but to no avail.

I have used Google Chrome browser - same problem.

Until I can resolve this, I am using eM Client software to send and received my outlook.com emails.

Is anyone aware of this problem please and any potential solutions.

I also did as instructed above (click message font and signature and under message font changed the font I want to start off with). However, my problem is that although the font starts off correctly it then jumps back to a different font in a smaller size. As if, the first few lines are fine but then it automatically reverts to a font I do not want. Almost like a certain block of lines are formatted for a different font. This leaves me with two fonts and two font sizes. I know I can use the tab to change it each and every time but I do all my work via computer and want this fixed so I do not have to take the time every time to fix the font issue. Thank you.

I don't know if this is even going to work. I use Windows 8 and I have the same problem. Now the font has changed on outlook to be so huge that I can't even send email anymore. I've tried restoring, and even that didn't help. There's no place to adjust the font size on my settings. Where it shows what the font is supposed to look like, the space is blank.

Windows Live Mail

SMTP         smtp.live.com

                  port 25

                  Log on Using Clear text authentication

                My server requires authentication

POP           pop3.live.com

                  port 995

eM Client

               as above BUT

SMTP       tick - Use SSL/TLS (if available)

POP          tick - on special port (legacy)

Hope this helps - I much prefer these as you can back up all your emails to the hard drive

and then save them to whatever medium you want.

All other desktop clients will have a variation of above settings. Its often just a matter of trial and error.

Yes - I have set both Windows Live Mail and eM Client (v.5) to handle all Outlook.com Mail.

It works perfectly.

I imagine you can use any desktop email client.

I will 'dig around' and send you the pop and smtp settings etc.

yeah, after I posted that all was well, it re-occurred with me too.

I've been reading many posts with this problem. you would think that this

would be resolved by now but alas, no. :(

unfortunately, i have to deal with it because all my employers know me by my email address.

is there a way to keep my address and NOT use Outlook?

if so, please fill me in.
