"Something went wrong and we can't sign you in right now. Please try again later."

I am having this same issue, have tried everything I can find on this forum, and nothing works.  I am still unable to login to Hotmail and NEED to get to my emails.

Please advise.

Clearly, the OP stated that the reply you chose to mark is NOT THE ANSWER.

If you really wanted to mark an "answer", then consider the post made by the OP that starts with this statement:

Still waiting for Microsoft to have the courtesy of showing the many customers, who were recently impacted by the MULTI-DAY outage, that Microsoft truly understands the root cause of the outage, and have taken specific, and well defined steps, to insure that the same issue will not cause an extended outage in the future.

These questions need SPECIFIC answers (not generic replies) ...

1. What caused the problem?
2. How could/should it have been avoided?
3. Why did it take so long to resolve?
4. Why weren't customers given meaningful status during the outage ("the problem is taking longer that expected to resolve" is NOT meaningful status).
5. What actions will be taken to insure that this problem does not happen again?

Microsoft has provided root cause analyses for past extended outages (so "privacy" is not a valid excuse for failure to provide a specific explanation to your customers). Please escalate this to Microsoft and ask that they provide a public response.

You are saying that Microsoft cannot provide a root cause analysis to their customers (who were impacted by a MULTI-DAY outage) because of "privacy"????????

And please do not tell us that the MULTI-DAY outage was caused by server maintenance. Before any extended maintenance is performed, customer accounts are offloaded to a spare server cluster.

You really cannot expect your customers to believe those excuses.

We deserve a true root cause analysis in order for us to believe that Microsoft truly understands what caused the MULTI-DAY outage and is taking appropriate (and well defined) steps to insure that another MULTI-DAY outage does not happen due to the same problem.
