Outlook.com sent items show sender not recipient - how can I change the display setting

When viewing sent items on outlook.com the items are displayed in a list with the sender name (my name) showing - rather than a list of the recipients. How can I change it to show the recipients. Currently to remember who an email was sent to I have to open it.

I'm Lanie, a Senior Support Analyst for Microsoft and I am part of Hotmail/Outlook.com Support Escalations Team investigating this case.

We would like to apologize for the delayed response and for the inconvenience that the issue has caused you.

You have reported that your name appears in the recipient’s column instead of the email recipient’s name/address when viewing your sent items using a web browser.

Here are the reasons why this is happening:

If you are using an email client such as Windows Live Mail or Outlook client when sending an email.
If you are importing emails from a third party email account (e.g. Gmail, Yahoo! mail etc.) to your Hotmail/Outlook.com account using TrueSwitch or POP settings, emails from the sent items folder will show your name in recipient’s column.

We understand that you don't want this behavior and you want everything to be synchronized like showing email recipients name in the sent items folder instead of your names when using a web browser. This behavior of Hotmail/Outlook.com is by design. But, we will be taking this concern as a feature request. We appreciate your feedback regarding our product.

This post is not correct. The thread started with people experiencing this error (like myself) as a result of sent emails from outlook.exe via hotmail connector. It has existed for years. It is extremely frustrating.

I just hope the added weight of those people experiencing the same error from the import of services as you have described gives our friends in MS some cause to act. I am not holding my breath.

It's clear (to me, at least) that Microsoft's outlook.com designers couldn't envision anyone wanting to have multiple sent items folders for organizing mail.

I'm not sure if that's what db54 was looking for.

I truly believe that we all agree with you the same way you should agree with:

This is correct, the rest of the noise needs to go find a different post.

This is simply: Import email via imap/pop moved to the sent folder shows my username and not the person who received it.

Edit: I stand corrected I tried the hotmail connector and have the same problem. Basically, Outlook.com web-interface is being silly. Lets just agree on that :)

MS seems to have no plan to fix it.
