Why is Conversation View greyed out in Outlook.com Android App?

I installed the Outlook.com app (version 7.8.2.12, build date 10 Oct 2013) on my Galaxy S3 and it is working well with the exception of conversation view.  When I go to Settings -> General Settings the option for Conversation View is unchecked and grayed out.  Does anybody have any insight as to why this may be and/or how to solve it?

Thanks.

I agree with Carlos above, please for my sanity sake, give us a way to turn off this Conversation View in Outlook for the Android, and I suspect for the iPhone users too.  This Conversation View is just annoying to me and anyone I show it to.  If someone likes it then that is fine too, but I want it turned off.

    Thanks.

    Dear Jeffrey,

I don't understand the reason why so many questions. You guys must be aware of the problem.

The fact is simple: Conversation settings are disabled. The app comes with Conversations ON and there is no way we can turn it off.

I'm not sure what developers think but to most people I spoke to we all agree that Conversation Views is one of the silliest thing ever infringed on users. At least give us a choice of having this option turned off.

I've tried Outlook app on my Galaxy S3 and there was no way to switch the Conversations OFF. Now, I just tried it on my brand new Galaxy S6 and nothing has changed.

I do like the new looks and some of the features of this app however this Conversation thing forced on us is so annoying that's becoming a deal breaker.

    Best,

    Carlos

Same here. Happens with my Galaxy Note 2 and OnePlus One. In my case, the key app is Last Pass. If disabled, in can turn on conversaion view.

If Microsoft are serious about becoming a services company they need to fix this. I have had to move my main mail to google as it has been over a year and no fix yet.
