Microsoft Says Someone Changed My Profile Information

I realize the importance of your concern and appreciate your efforts in bringing the issue to our attention.

I understand that you wish to know what is triggering the messages stating that your profile information has been changed and if this is a real security.

Based on your issue description and the information that you have provided, it needs to be addressed directly by posting to our **Private Support via Secure Messaging** as the channel you have reached specialized on Outlook.com issues. Microsoft Account support has the tools and resources that would allow them to do more than what we can do here on our end. I will try to address your concerns with the best of my knowledge, though.

"What is triggering this message/es?"

The answer lies on the message itself. Profile info such as your name, birth date, or country/region was changed on your Microsoft account.  

"Is there is any real security concern?"

Your profile information defines you and your account's identity. If someone managed to change it without your knowledge, it means that they have access to your information and it can be misused or the intention--at the first place--is to misuse it.

"It is a server-side issue that seems to be internal to Microsoft's network."

At the moment, there is no such information cascaded to us that would support this statement. It would be best if you contact our Microsoft Account Support for further assistance.

  Posting here is futile. These "communities" and "forums" are manned by corporate handcuffed idiot that are not allowed to post any kind of real help to anyone even if they know the answer. Their purpose is to deflect, dissuade, and discourage further contact attempts by frustrating the **** out of end users. You will get not help here from Microsoft. Nor at any other company's community or forum sites for that matter.

  I too doubt this is anything other than a Microsoft programming bug they will do nothing to acknowledge or fix until the program is replaced by another program or more likely a lame Wincrap 8 app.

Hello guys. It's a rather old thread but apparently Microsoft has not done anything to fix their internal issues. I received exactly the same notification on January 17, 2015. Scenario is exactly the same and it points to IP 65.55.52.8 (six five . five five . five two . eight).

I was skimming through the responses in this thread from the beginning and I was laughing at Microsoft's responses. It's just unbelievable how all of the Microsoft guys who responded can be so clueless and not understand what everything is trying to explain.

These erroneous emails (and false entry in the profile activity history) really make you feel uncertain about your Microsoft account security... And especially their inability to acknowledge that they indeed experienced problems and that it would be fixed soon. No reassurance...

These IPs belong all to "Microsoft bingbot" Address-range.

It's lovely to see them now hunting also in other countries. This info does not go to Bing Search - it goes to US Govt 'Statistical Purposes', that's listed elsewhere and the level of using it is pretty free. Terrorists of today there in CIA, Mossad & co are needing work. You are wanted again, this time not by Uncle Sam, mostly by your 'voted ones' and their owners.

MS is (sadly so) forced to do these - as is Google on their side. Welcome to today. Where did you want to go today .... :)
