Recurring email "Reconnect to Google"

Hi Grace

Are you aware that the solution of unlink the account and then relink it again has been proposed many times in this thread and that people have been stating that it is only a temporary fix and the problem comes back?

Is there anyone at Microsoft actually looking in to this issue or is it considered acceptable support to just dip into the thread every week and repeat what the last person said?

I understand that you are still having the same issue. Let me further assist you with this.

I have read this thread and can see that you have done all the troubleshooting steps to resolve this. However, upon checking your account, I found out that your Gmail account was not successfully synced to your Microsoft account. This could be the possible reason why you are still receiving those " reconnect emails".

With this, we would like you to reconfigure again your Gmail account to your Microsoft account using the steps below:

1. Go to this link.
2. Click Edit under Google icon.
3. On the next page, click Remove this connection completely.
4. Click Remove.
5. Go to this link.
6. You might be asked to enter again your password, please enter Outlook.com password.
7. Under Related accounts, click Add accounts.
8. Click Google icon.
9. Click Accept.
10. Click Done.

I don't have Google configured as POP3...

I need a solution for Connect Google using OAuth to chat with google contacts.. this way I can't use App Password..

I would just like to share you these links which may resolve the issue on Google connection. Please visit all of the links and do all of the following steps:

1. Activate TSV (Two Steps Verification) on the Gmail account (https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/180744?hl=en)
2. Generate a (new) App password

3. Update the new App password in Outlook.com account > “Your email accounts” Gmail POP account settings
4. You may also want to enable TSV (Two Steps Verification) on your Microsoft account (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/two-step-verification-faq)

Note: Those links/steps are for the "Reconnect to Google" issue.

I am likewise having the same issue.  I have disconnected and reconnected but the emails keep coming.

They are legitimate Microsoft emails and link to the area where I can manage all accounts linked to my Microsoft account.

I have received these emails on:

7/16 (twice), 7/18, 8/3, 8/9, 8/13, 8/29 (twice), 9/2

Sometimes I just attempt to reconnect, others I disconnect/reconnect but the results ultimately are the same.  It loses connection.

I do use multiple Windows PC's, a Surface RT, and a Windows Phone 8 which all connect to this Hotmail account.
