I cannot add this image in my signature on Outlook.com.

I just spent five hours on this and I figured out what may have been the smallest little mistake some of you (like me) have been making.

If you've followed all the above steps and get to end of the process e.g you added your image link in the signature box in outlook, then hit 'SAVE' then you go to write an email and find your signature is nowhere to be found??? Then screamed a bad word at the computer.

Firstly, breath... Unclench your fist... Now try this.

You can't JUST add a an image to your signature, you have to add text too. Don't ask why (and maybe someone else knows a way around it?) But I've found that when you add your image link, before hitting 'SAVE', try typing a few words next to your photo, then save it. Then check if it worked by going in and typing an email.

I understand this won't cure everyone's problems, but if I can save someone else 5 hours of swearing I'd like to do that.

I am having same problem, i cannot place logo image in my signature following are steps i followed:

(provided that logo image is already uploaded to my website and i can see that image separately when i directly access the image : http://mywebsite.com/images/mylogoimage.png)

1. I went into signature settings.
2. open logo image in separate browser by direct url.
3. copy pasted image (and image successfully show up)
4. Save.

i went to compose new email and my new signature appeared but without image, a cross marks was showing in place of image.

i Went back to edit my signature, again i cannot see the logo image but a cross mark instead , which was showing correctly before i save the signature last time.

i went into edit in HTML.

the html for my image was appearing as above. which is incorrect.

i changed HTML to.

<img src="http://mywebsite.com/images/mylogoimage.png" />

and click save.

i went to compose new mail, and again image was not appearing.

i went back to edit signature, and switched to edit in html ...

surprisingly the HTML for image was :

<img src="https://dub118.mail.live.com/Handlers/ImageProxy.mvc?bicild=&canary=sb0i8iXBGWspFcwv4eRJyl1GNtVw9oyN/jz9zxDQS1g%3d0&url=http://mywebsite.com/images/mylogoimage.png">

why did outlook.com change the HTML? and i think this is the problem.

every time i try to correct the HTML for image, it is automatically changed and i believe this is the problem stopping every one from displaying any sort of image in logo.

please advice and help us resolving issue.

I too was surprised about this, and it seems to be the problem.

Or is there a reason for this?

I've tried pasting a picture multiple times but this clearly does not work.

Anyone found a work around?

I understand the challenge you've encountered in adding image to your signature.

Please follow the steps below on how to add image to signature from Skydrive.

1.     Login to Skydrive account.

2.     Select the image that you want to add in your signature.

3.     Select View original then copy the URL in the address bar. 

Example: < https://******.bay.livefilestore.com/*******.JPG?psid=1 > Remove the text after the jpg, jpeg, bmp or png.

4.     Go to your inbox.

5.     Click gear icon located at the upper right side of the page and select More mail setting.

6.     Click on Message font and signature under“Writing email”.

7.     Type your personal signature.

8.     Choose Edit in HTML under the drop down list then <img src=””>and paste the URL link of the photo in between double qoutes. For example:

Thanks,

Your name

<img src=”http://afjhfhfhahf.com/gfsgffggfasd.jpg”> 

9.      Choose Rich Text under the drop down list to see your photo.

10.    Click Save.

Why all those steps necessary ...a simple copy and paste should work, please explain , thanks

Thank you for the response.

If you right click, copy and paste any picture in web page to signature text box in Outlook.com it will work fine, but if you want to add a picture in your local drive to signature, you may upload the picture to OneDrive and follow the instructions mentioned by our Support Engineer’s. If you have the same picture that you want to add to Signature in any web page or social network site, Simple right click, copy and paste should work.
