How to merge 2 Microsoft accounts?

Hello,

I created a Outlook email account and I have a other outlook email address that used to be a Hotmail address. Before I knew that you can rename a Outlook account I created another account with the same name. Is it possible to merge the two accounts.

    This will work if you just want both email addresses on the same account. It won't transfer Microsoft purchase history or anything. 

    I accidentally set up an account with my gmail account a long time ago (on Microsoft or xbox). All of my Microsoft purchases and subscriptions were on my live account. TURNS OUT YOU CAN'T MERGE THEM HA XD. Also, if you try to just delete the account to get your email …. IT TAKES A YEAR FOR THAT EMAIL TO BECOME AVALIBLE AGAIN. 

    What you CAN do...

    1. Go make a new email for temporary use at gmail, mail.com, yahoo etc
    2. In another tab go sign into the Microsoft you don't really use. Then go to "manage account/add alias"
    3. Add the NEW email address to the account that you DON'T want to keep (add alias). 
    4. Change the NEW/temp email address to your "primary email address"
    5. Delete your OLD email off of that account. Now that old email address will be immediately available. 
    6. Just sign out and sign back into the Microsoft account you wanted to keep... add the old email as an alias and your done! Better then losing the use of your email address or waiting A YEAR to get it! 

    **This works for xbox accounts too (its amazing how many people made the same mistake I did XD)

    **Make sure you set which ever email address you want to use as a login as your "primary" 

    HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE! Its faster and easier than it sounds!! Takes less than 10 mins! 

    should also work for xbox accounts... I think I already said that, MB. GL GS.

    How do I combine 2 computer accounts. They are both mine. They somehow turned into to 2 separate when I changed computer name. I'm lost!! I don't want to lose my information from either account.

    I am trying to link my accounts as you suggest, but the link you have provided just states, "we can't find that page."

    I am trying to consolidate my accounts so that I can also consolidate my purchases and make more to a primary account.
