someone DOES have the same hotmail email address as me, this is a security issue

I also had this problem. He had my Facebook page and was using my email address. I got back into my account and deleted all his friends, turned off everything associated with him, sent a message to his friends that the account was illegal, and locked it down so that only I could access anything. I also have not used the account for a while just to make sure.

Changing passwords did nothing to stop the guy even in Facebook.

Laurie, there a few explanations for these emails, but if your concern is that someone else is accessing your email account, put your mind at ease by following the steps mentioned earlier to change your password.

Is the "To" address on the email your email address? If not, there may be some forwarding rules set up.

Another option is to follow the Facebook "unsubscribe" link to turn those notifications off.

I have a similar problem. I have hundreds of emails, in Portuguese, meant for a person in Brazil. She has signed up for Facebook and Twitter and other websites using this email, and somehow she is able to respond to the messages send by these websites when you sign up. I have changed my email address multiple times, but the emails continue. I have used Google Translate to read some messages and I did just today find a link in a message to tell Twitter that my email address should not be associated with the account (I can't find anything like that from Facebook, where I can't seem to find any way to report this improper use of my email).

It sounds like they have been confused their real email address with your and have shared the wrong one with others.

Once you have checked the link above to confirm that they are aren't using your email account (which would be highly unlikely seeing you have the password control), why not contact one of the senders of personal email and ask them to contact the owner or tell you their real email address?

This can happen with any email account, not just outlook.com

Please help me, I am at my wits end with this. I keep getting emails intended for another person with the same email address as me. I have got personal emails intended for the other person. I live in Ireland & the other person with exactly the same email address lives in Canada. At this stage I know all her personal details as I am getting what seems like all her emails. I have received her airline tickets, college transcripts etc & Im so worried that she may be receiving my personal emails. I got a message from PayPal today telling me I had bought something which I hadn't & I had to cancel the transaction. I get all her Facebook updates & I am not on Facebook. I feel I know her personally at this stage.

Please help me, I do not want to change my email address as I need it for work.  I have changed my password to no success.
