someone DOES have the same hotmail email address as me, this is a security issue

hi, someone definitely has the same Hotmail email address as me. I have had this address for years. then a few months ago I started receiving information from ebay that was meant for this person. I contacted ebay and they asked this person to change her email which she must of done because I do not receive mail from ebay that's is not intended for me now.  yesterday I received a email from a energy company with this persons name and and energy account  number. I am worried she may be receiving my emails and this may be a security issue? what should I do please.?

    Sorry, when I said I'd changed my email address multiple times I meant I'd changed my password multiple times. It doesn't make any difference. I still constantly get these emails, and she was somehow able to use my email address to sign up for Facebook and Twitter (meaning she had to confirm these subscriptions via email). And my recent activity includes mostly incorrect password events, dozens of them, most of them not involving me. (they are all listed as US)

    It it a little sad that people have tried to help by providing advice and explanations of the situation but your response if to show your ignorance of how email works.

    Suppose the your email addresss was hubba_hubba62 @ hotmail.com

    How could Microsoft or anyone else stop me typing that email address into any number of websites that lets me sign up for newsletters, ask for help, etc. This is only one of many scenarios.

    they ghave typed the email wrong eh.

    And if Microsoft do know, why are they not helping

    Great answer to my original question.

    So I have done all I have been told to do, changed my password about 3 times, do 2 step security, go to activity, ect,ect,ect and I still get email sent to me from different organisation using my exact email address.

    THE EMAILS I KEEP GETTING SENT TO ME IS FROM SOMEONE USING THE EXACT SAME EMAIL ADDRESS.

    I CANNOT EVEN BLOCK IT AS IT WILL NOT LET ME BLOCK MY OWN EMAIL ADDRESS

    Gee you so smart, but not that smart, I never said you work for Microsoft.

    So perhaps the fault lies not in what I am saying but in how you are listening??

    First perhaps the fault lies not in what we are saying but in how you are listening.  You are the one with the problem  Mine is working fine.

    BTW  See my sig, I do not work for MS and would not want to,  I help where ever I feel like it and atm it is not here.  Good luck
