My word! Thought I was the only one, seems like if you were using a problem free e-mail it was too good to be true so let's change it for one that doesn't work! I've loads of important e-mails in my account and can't access any of them, am extremely frustrated and cross as now I'll have to try to contact so many different people and companies to change my e-mail as I'm certainly not staying with Outlook a moment longer than necessary! Apple any-one?

I have had the hardest time trying to get my old microsoft account name.  Nowhere in the whole support section does it give you an option to get your account name without creating a new, separate account and then submitting a ticket.  It's sad to see that there is some automated support "chat," instead of an actual chat, that isn't helpful at all.  I want to talk to someone or at least get a chat or email from someone and not some automated message.  I have submitted a request on a dummy account and I hope to hear from you within 24 hours.

ElysianP, I feel with you. I am in the same situation. I did receive a reply telling me to go to Support on the Microsoft site and with an https link to a page. Turns out the link is the very same page they tell me to go to Microsoft Support where instructions are provided. Talking about running around in circles. This will be my last PC purchase ever. In the meantime I have wasted HOURS and HOURS trying to get back onto my new laptop. I am about to pull the hair out of my head!

    Hello.

I have tried to sign into my hotmail account signed up to for free several years ago, but each time I sign in it says "It looks like someone else might be using your account".

I have gone through the procedures of filling in the validation form several times and have had no luck.

The form asks me questions like 'what is your xbox live number' and 'who were the last people you sent emails to recently'.

I don't have an Xbox live number and I use the account to make bookings on, and thus do not send many emails on it.

I have a lot of important stuff on there including flight information (flying in three weeks) and train information, so need to go on urgently as soon as possible.

Is there anyone who is able to help me with this? I don't mind confirming what emails are in my inbox, but am unable to confirm an Xbox live number, as I don't have one or the answer to the security question, as I signed up for this account for free years ago.

    Thanks,

    Jack Dutton
