android outlook.com set sender name

I downloaded and configured the latest Outlook android app with the cool metro interface. however I noticed that when I send emails my name is not dispalyed as sender but rather I only see my email address

In otehr words the recipients would see

From: ******@hotmail.com

Instead of

From: My Name

This doesnt happen when I send emails from the web interface or the windows 8 app, only withy the Android app. As much as I have looked I cant find where it is you set the sender's name

Hi Everyone,

As some of you already know, there have been a recent update to the application which include "Recipients can see the sender name instead of just an email address in mail sent from the app".

For others who have not yet updated the Outlook.com app on your mobile devices, kindly do so.

Hello all. Appears to be working now on my nexus, oh and on my Samsung galaxy s4.

    hello,

    I had this information in another thread ... will this issue be resolved soon ?  Sending emails w/out a name looks quite unprofessional ... this was the thread that was ongoing earlier with the issue "the new outlook.com android app does not display the Name (FROM) when sending an email, instead it just displays the email address"

    Some steps I have taken to resolve issue ...

    1.  It happens on both mine and my wife's phone ...

    2.  email sent from the windows 8 metro is showing names ... therefore, it is the Outlook.com APP causing the issue.

    3.  we have uninstalled, re-installed and the issue is not fixed

    4.  I have reset my phone and re-installed the Outlook.com app ... it did not fix issue

    Please advise !  thanks

    Hi everyone,

    Thank you for providing a detailed description of the issue regarding your name not appearing on the From: field when sending emails using the Outlook.com app.

    To address your issue, please provide the logs of your Outlook.com app for investigation.

    Please refer to the steps below:

    1.Start Outlook.com's app

    2.In the message list view, click the "..." in the bottom right of the screen

    3.Tap the "Settings" option

    4.Tap the "General" option at the top

    5.Scroll down and tap the "Support tools" option

    6.Tap "Log level" and choose "Fine trace"

    7.Delete/Remove the account and sign back in.

    8.Go back to support tools

    9.Tap the "Send logs" option

    10.Email the logs to an accessible email address.

    11.Log in to that email address and download the attachment.

    After getting the logs upload it on the private message I've created for you.

    Note: You can open the private message by clicking the red link above your post that says*"You have a private reply to this message."***
