android outlook.com set sender name

I downloaded and configured the latest Outlook android app with the cool metro interface. however I noticed that when I send emails my name is not dispalyed as sender but rather I only see my email address

In otehr words the recipients would see

From: ******@hotmail.com

Instead of

From: My Name

This doesnt happen when I send emails from the web interface or the windows 8 app, only withy the Android app. As much as I have looked I cant find where it is you set the sender's name

Hi Everyone,

As some of you already know, there have been a recent update to the application which include "Recipients can see the sender name instead of just an email address in mail sent from the app".

For others who have not yet updated the Outlook.com app on your mobile devices, kindly do so.

Hello all. Appears to be working now on my nexus, oh and on my Samsung galaxy s4.

    I have a T-Mobile branded Samsung Galaxy S III phone running Android Jellybean 4.1.1

    My email account is ******@hotmail.com But I also see my parents accounts affected by the same issue, they are ******@hotmail.com and ******@hotmail.com

    My parents both have T-Mobile branded Samsung Galaxy S II phones running Android Jellybean 4.1.2

    Hi Levi_I.

    As advised I have unistalled the App and reinstalled but unfortunatley that did not solve the issue.

    Then I tried logging in with a different outlook address but again the issue persisted, just the email address will appear in the recepient inbox instead of sender's name

    My email account is: ******@live.com.au

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community forum. I’m here to help you with your concern regarding the new Outlook.com android app which does not display the name when sending an email.

    We need to confirm if the issue is not caused by the Outlook.com app itself. I want you to please try uninstalling it and then installing a new one. This will serve as an initial troubleshooting. Check if there'll be changes.

    If in case the above process did not work, can you please confirm if the same issue happens when using another Outlook.com account?
