android outlook.com set sender name

I downloaded and configured the latest Outlook android app with the cool metro interface. however I noticed that when I send emails my name is not dispalyed as sender but rather I only see my email address

In otehr words the recipients would see

From: ******@hotmail.com

Instead of

From: My Name

This doesnt happen when I send emails from the web interface or the windows 8 app, only withy the Android app. As much as I have looked I cant find where it is you set the sender's name

Hi Everyone,

As some of you already know, there have been a recent update to the application which include "Recipients can see the sender name instead of just an email address in mail sent from the app".

For others who have not yet updated the Outlook.com app on your mobile devices, kindly do so.

Hello all. Appears to be working now on my nexus, oh and on my Samsung galaxy s4.

    Hi Allan,

    I am experiencing the same problem as described by the users in this particular forum - that is, when I send email from my Android device using my Outlook.com account, the sender name is not listed (but rather only the username of my email address). I do not have the option in my Android email settings to add a sender name. Note that my Exchange Server is: s.outlook.com

    My Outlook email is: ******@outlook.com

    Please advise?

    Hi

    I had the problem with my outlook.com nickname showing as the from name in my e-mails. The solution was to log in to the desktop web site, and set the account name in my profile (clicked my name in top right corner, edit profile then set account name).

    Please be advised that I am in receipt of a brand new Galaxy S4. However, the problem as stated above persists - Clearly this is NOT an issue w/the device and further, it seems even more clear that no one will be able to resolve this... As a result, unfortunately, I'm returning to my iPhone 5 where all the glitches have been worked out either on Apple's side and/or on the Microsoft Outlook end.
