Login to Outlook fails ... MSPPError=-2147205086

I'm trying to signin to Outlook.com with my account and it's failing with a blank page but MSPPError=-2147205086 is at the end of the url.

I am not logged in to office365 or outlook on any other machine.

I can still access my account using Outlook 2013.

Any ideas please?

Hi Everyone,

This is Carlo of the Outlook.com Support Escalations Team.  I am a Senior Support Analyst for Microsoft and I am part of the Team investigating this issue/behavior.

I would like to set everyone's expectations that this issue is still being investigated by our Microsoft Engineers.  We have forwarded the screenshots and fiddler trace logs that have been provided by the earlier customers.  Please be assured that all of the information that you have submitted to us have been collated properly and such information will be used in order to determine the root cause of this issue.

I would advise everyone to check this thread from time to time for updates on this issue.  In the meantime, I would like everyone to try this possible workaround only if this is applicable to you and your account:

1.) Determine if the Office 365 subscription that you are using is the Preview version or not.

2.) Take note of the first time that this issue happened and if it coincides that you used the Office 365 preview.

3.) If you are using the preview version and if the time that this issue first happened coincides with each other, then kindly unsubscribe from the preview version.

4.) Try again and see if the issue persists.

In the meantime, we will be investigating this issue further on our end also so that we can compare the results of our investigation with our Microsoft Engineers.

I would also like to thank MJJennings for sharing this information with us.  We greatly appreciate it.

We would like to thank everyone for your patience and understanding regarding this issue.

Thank you.

Regards,

Carlo

    Hey all,

As you might have guessed by the URL, you are supposed to be seeing an error page. I think this error page is presented if you have a LiveID that matches your OrgID domain (i.e. if my LiveID is ******@smith.com and my O365 domain is smith.com, I may get this error). The error is supposed to point you to log in at your O365 site, which you might login from something like https://portal.microsoftonline.com. There, you can login with your O365 username which may be something like ******@johnsmith.onmicrosoft.com or ******@smith.com if you have your custom domain set up. I don't think you should see this error if you actually have a hotmail/outlook email box that is hosted by Microsoft.

Unfortunately, it's currently showing a blank page. You can still use your other LiveID/EASI ID services if you go to pages like http://skydrive.live.com or http://calendar.live.com/. My understanding is that when this gets fixed, you are most likely going to see an error page rather than a blank page.

As of yesterday this problem has spread to my firm. None of the admin or user login work, they all result in the above mentioned error. I have a user who lost his password and needs a reset but I cant login to perform the action. This user no longer has email!!! Microsoft does not offer live phone support for outlook.com.

This is a major emergency for us. If this is not fixed today I will need to migrate to another service immediately, a MAJOR hassle.
