Login to Outlook fails ... MSPPError=-2147205086

I'm trying to signin to Outlook.com with my account and it's failing with a blank page but MSPPError=-2147205086 is at the end of the url.

I am not logged in to office365 or outlook on any other machine.

I can still access my account using Outlook 2013.

Any ideas please?

Hi Everyone,

This is Carlo of the Outlook.com Support Escalations Team.  I am a Senior Support Analyst for Microsoft and I am part of the Team investigating this issue/behavior.

I would like to set everyone's expectations that this issue is still being investigated by our Microsoft Engineers.  We have forwarded the screenshots and fiddler trace logs that have been provided by the earlier customers.  Please be assured that all of the information that you have submitted to us have been collated properly and such information will be used in order to determine the root cause of this issue.

I would advise everyone to check this thread from time to time for updates on this issue.  In the meantime, I would like everyone to try this possible workaround only if this is applicable to you and your account:

1.) Determine if the Office 365 subscription that you are using is the Preview version or not.

2.) Take note of the first time that this issue happened and if it coincides that you used the Office 365 preview.

3.) If you are using the preview version and if the time that this issue first happened coincides with each other, then kindly unsubscribe from the preview version.

4.) Try again and see if the issue persists.

In the meantime, we will be investigating this issue further on our end also so that we can compare the results of our investigation with our Microsoft Engineers.

I would also like to thank MJJennings for sharing this information with us.  We greatly appreciate it.

We would like to thank everyone for your patience and understanding regarding this issue.

Thank you.

Regards,

Carlo

    Hi MJJennings,

I apologize if this situation caused any inconvenience on your end. I understand that you're unable to access your Outlook.com mail but you're able to access other Microsoft websites.

I would just like to verify if you've tried to login using http://outlook.com or http://live.com? If you try to login using these two sites, does it redirect to the blank page?

Please let us know once you have tried.

    Thanks!

I have been following this problem since it started for me in August, 2012.  I have had a Microsoft Account since it was called Passport.  It is an account that has my personal company name as the "domain".com.  I do not want to change my account name since it is associated with all my dealings with Microsoft, Windows Phone, XBox, MS Partnership, etc. since the 1990's.  I also have this account associated with Messenger (which I know is going away).    I have a workaround because Hotmail is not my primary email program and I use MS Outlook 2013.  I can get my email via the Windows phone and via MS Outlook 2013, I can also get to Skydrive, Contacts, edit Profile, Account settings, etc.  but I cannot get to them directly via the new Outlook.com mail.  I have to get to them by going to https://account.live.com/summarypage.aspx first.  I would like to have someone help me that would not jeopardize this account.  When I am signed in and try to get to Outlook.com I get this message:  https://pod51030.outlook.com/owa/?hm=1&f=255&MSPPError=-2147205086 and a blank screen.

If you can private message with me, I can give you screen shots and more data.

Thanks so much, I really would like to have this resolved.

    Hi,

Sorry for the confusion. It would be more helpful if you can provide us a screenshot of the error message received and if you would grant us a permission to access your account so we can speed up the process of troubleshooting. Please upload the requested information on the private message tab that I have created.

Please click the notification states “You have a private reply to this message. Click here to read it on our secure private message” section or by clicking the “Private Messages” tab above the first post. Make sure that you are currently signed in to Microsoft Community to view the private message.

    Thank you.
