How to delete one mis-spelled email address from auto-complete list

I previously mis-spelled an email address when sending a message .... and now, that mis-spelled address is displayed in the auto-complete list each time I begin to type the correct email address.

This is NOT an issue with my contact list ... I do not have a contact defined for this address.

I do have this option enabled:  Give suggestions for anyone I've communicated with (contacts and non-contacts) and I want to keep that option enabled. I realize that I could select this option: Only suggest people in my contact list, and the mis-spelled address would not appear in the auto-complete list .... but I want the auto-complete function to give suggestions from both contacts and non-contacts.

What I am looking for is the ability to delete one entry from the non-contact addresses that are maintained by the auto-complete feature. Can this be done in Outlook.com??

I apologize for the late response. Let us try the following steps to check if this setting contributes to the issue:

    1. Sign in to your account using this link.
    2. Click the Cog icon then choose More mail settings
    3. Under Customizing Outlook, select Advanced privacy settings
    4. Choose Only suggest people in my contact list under Auto-complete suggestions
    5. Click Save

    RoseKatrina:

Please go back and read my original post.  While you are at it, please read ALL of the responses in this thread.

You will notice that I said this in my original post:

I do have this option enabled:  Give suggestions for anyone I've communicated with (contacts and non-contacts) and I want to keep that option enabled. I realize that I could select this option:Only suggest people in my contact list, and the mis-spelled address would not appear in the auto-complete list .... but I want the auto-complete function to give suggestions from both contacts and non-contacts.

I appreciate your response, but by not reading my original post, and not reading ALL of the responses in this thread you have wasted your time, and you have wasted my time (by suggesting that I select the option to Only suggest people in my contact list).

Also, by reading ALL of the posts in this thread, you will clearly see that I do not have a problem deleting items from my contact list. The problem I am having is deleting "remembered" email addresses that are not in my contact list but are placed into the auto-suggest list.

Your customers need a way to manage (add, delete, change) entries in the auto-suggest list.

Please re-read the last sentence again before responding. I'll say it again ....

THE PROBLEM IS THAT THERE IS NO WAY TO MANAGE ENTRIES IN THE AUTO-SUGGEST LIST.

This problem exists in different operating systems (Windows 7, Vista, XP), and in different browsers (Firefox, IE), and on different computers.

The problem is NOT with the OS, NOT with the browser, and NOT associated with a specific computer. The problem is global in Hotmail/Outlook, and Microsoft needs to fix the problem.

I know that you do not work for Microsoft ... so I am just asking you to forward my request to the Outlook development team and ask if they have any intention of fixing this problem ... or should I just consider using one of your competitor's email services (Google, Yahoo, etc).

IS THIS PROBLEM GOING TO BE FIXED IN THE NEAR FUTURE?????

    Hi langware,

I understand your frustration. Please be informed that I have provided the steps to enable Only suggest people in my contact list so that you may remove the misspelled address under Auto-complete suggestions. However, you have mentioned that you prefer to enable the other option. What I would suggest is that you reset your browser's setting to its default. Please follow the steps provided in the link below:

    Reset Internet Explorer settings

In addition, I have provided a reply in the Private Message tab. Please sign in to this website to be able to read it.

    Thank you.

    RoseKatrina_H,

You stated this:  *"I have provided the steps to enable Only suggest people in my contact list so that you may remove the misspelled address under Auto-complete suggestions."*As I have explained, the misspelled address IS NOT associated with anyone in my contact list. So, if I follow your suggestion, and enable Only suggest people in my contact list, then the misspelled address (which is NOT associated with anyone in my contact list) will no longer be auto-suggested ....... however, your suggestion (to enable Only suggest people in my contact list) would NOT allow me to remove/change the misspelled address!!!!

Again, as I stated, I do not want to enable Only suggest people in my contact listbecause I do not want to restrict the auto-suggested addresses to only those associated with my contacts.

So, your suggestion to enable Only suggest people in my contact listdoes not help me!!!!

Finally, please explain how resetting my browser's settings to their default values would miraculously allow me to manage (add, delete, change) entries in the auto-suggest list???????

I would like the ability to manage (add, delete, change) entries in the auto-suggest list. Hotmail and outlook.com do not appear to have this function. I have been told that a request to implement this function has been forwarded to the Outlook developers.

I would like to know if this function will be implemented sometime in 2013.

I know that YOU cannot answer this question. Please ask a Microsoft employee on the Outlook Project Team to have the courtesy to provide an answer. And please do not insult me by responding that the Outlook Project Team cannot answer this question. The contents of releases are planned out months in advance. So, the Outlook Project Manager knows exactly what will be included in each new release of Outlook. I would just like to know if the feature I am requesting will be implemented sometime in 2013.
