How to delete one mis-spelled email address from auto-complete list

I previously mis-spelled an email address when sending a message .... and now, that mis-spelled address is displayed in the auto-complete list each time I begin to type the correct email address.

This is NOT an issue with my contact list ... I do not have a contact defined for this address.

I do have this option enabled:  Give suggestions for anyone I've communicated with (contacts and non-contacts) and I want to keep that option enabled. I realize that I could select this option: Only suggest people in my contact list, and the mis-spelled address would not appear in the auto-complete list .... but I want the auto-complete function to give suggestions from both contacts and non-contacts.

What I am looking for is the ability to delete one entry from the non-contact addresses that are maintained by the auto-complete feature. Can this be done in Outlook.com??

    Andreo Paulo_D:

THANK YOU for your help in reproducing the problem I am having (i.e., unable to remove an address from the auto complete list).

As you suggested, I will report this problem on the feedback.live.com site.

However, since you have also been able to reproduce this problem, I am requesting that either you, or your management, escalate this issue to the Outlook product team via your internal network.

I would like to know if the Outlook product team is (or is not) going to include a fix for this issue in the next release of Outlook.com. I know that project plans include a list of all fixes to be included in a release, and the release project manager has access to this list. I am just asking for the project manager to provide a yes/no response as to whether a fix for this issue is scheduled to be included in the next Outlook.com release.

    Hi,

We will send your feature request to our product team but there is no assurance that they will respond. Your best option is the feedback forum as they will scrub all the feature request and if there are considerable amount of request with a certain feature, they will add it up on their future development of the product.

    Thank you

It's been almost THREE MONTHS since my original post, and I am still waiting for this issue to be fixed.

Can you ping the product team and ask for status on whether or not this issue will be fixed?

    Hi langware,

I apologize for the late response. Let us try the following steps to check if this setting contributes to the issue:

    1. Sign in to your account using this link.
    2. Click the Cog icon then choose More mail settings
    3. Under Customizing Outlook, select Advanced privacy settings
    4. Choose Only suggest people in my contact list under Auto-complete suggestions
    5. Click Save

Note: Please ensure that the email address that you want to remove from the To field is not in your contacts. You may follow these steps on how to delete a contact in People:

    1. Sign in to your account using this link.
    2. Click the contact name that you want to delete.
    3. Click Delete on the menu bar.
    4. Confirm the action by clicking Delete.

If this didn't work, please provide additional details about the issue. We will need the type and version of browser that you are using and a screenshot of the issue. You can get a screenshot by following the instructions on the links provided below:

    ·         For Vista/Windows 7: Use Snipping Tool to capture screen shots

    ·         For XP: Take a screen shot

    ·         Mac Computers: Please refer to your computer’s help directory

I have initiated a Private Message tab for you to be able to provide the screenshot there. You must sign in to this website and click the link that states, "You have a private reply to this message..." or click Private Messages across All Replies to see the tab.

    Thank you.
