A whole month as of today of trying to shut off my e mail without result.

At least I feel better knowing I am not alone.

Same problem here, specifically when clicking the Verify button on an Account Alias.

Already tried the browser cache, changed password and whatever else is mentioned here and anywhere else...

Contacted Microsoft support, and the escalation agent couldn't find anything so escalated...

That's a month ago now, still no reply, answer or solution to this temporary problem...

I'm pretty pissed off about it but no one can see that on the private forum.

As I don't expect any solution all that's left to do is make it more public

When I try to log in to Hotmail using my other account, I get the message "It looks like someone else might be using your account". On the next screen I get "There's a temporary problem with the service. Please try again. If you continue to get this message, try again later."

 

I have tried this on several computers using Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari. This is going on for several days now. Please suggest on how to solve this.

Yes, the issue seems to be related to the fact that my password did not meet their new password standard.   When I changed my password to one that meet their new standard, it wasn't a problem.

The new password requirement now requires the following:

• Passwords must have at least 8 characters
• Passwords must contain at least two of the following: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols
• Password can’t contain the part of your email address that comes before the @ sign (existing requirement)

hey Carl_311 and all who have had this mind boggling problem, ive had this problem and I couldn't figure it out. What my solution was just to simply change my password at the log in screen. Once I did that it let me log in without any annoying security questions. I really hope this works for all of you because I know how much of a headache it was.
