When trying to add my old Hotmail alias to my Outlook account, I get this message: "This email address is part of a reserved domain such as live.com, hotmail.com, or msn.com. Please enter a different email address."

How can I add my Hotmail account to my Outlook?

Hi,

As I understand you want to accounts to share one mailbox. Let me assist you on this.

If you have two Outlook.com accounts, you can’t add this as an alias for the other since they are already Microsoft account.

If your third party account was already registered as Microsoft account, you cannot also add this as alias. You can only add an existing email address as an alias if it is not yet registered as Microsoft account.

If you want to manage several accounts in one mailbox, you can use mail client like Windows Live Mail. You can also use Outlook.com to send and receive emails from other account that uses POP.     Take note that since you used your new alias as the primary alias for your account, you will be using the new alias to login to your account, and not the old one. You have received the "Account does not exist" message when logging in the old alias, since you have already removed it.

    Your emails should still be there, you just need to use the new alias to login.

    Are you referring on a system that lets you switch back to your hotmail accounts without having to login and logout individually?

    If so, I don't think there's such feature that's implemented on Outlook.

    An alternative would be to simply have your email addresses automatically logged in on 3 different web browsers. You can login all three at once without having to signout in each of them.

    I added an alias to my existing hotmail account trying to  get away from spam but not lose all my emails.  I made it my primary and then deleted my original hotmail account under alias now I cannot sign in (says trouble signing in) so I can't see any of my email and I can't log in using my old hotmail account.  I tried adding that hotmail to my alias but it says This email is part of a reserved domain. Please enter a different email address.

    When I try to log in with old hotmail account says doesn't exist...please tell me I haven't lost all my emails and can't get my emails coming in there now!!!  PLEASE

    OK look,

    I have read most of this forum (as well as many others) and i cant seem to find the answer I am looking for.

    What i want to know is, is it possible to link 3 hotmail accounts and move back and forth between them with a fair amount of ease. As i used to in hotmail when my accounts were linked.

    Now, from what I have read, im getting the impression that microsoft have stopped this because it is unsafe. As, if one account gets breached, all the others are then too. Now, I completely understand this, however, am also greatly missing the ability to log in to one account and easily shift through the others.

    So, solution. Why not just prompt me for the passwords of the other accounts as a try to shift to them. This way i can see all my other accounts from one account and they arent anymore vulnerable. Is something like this likely to be possible? Or am i doomed to manually signing in and out between them.
