How do I remove ads from Outlook.com

I NEVER WANTED TO CHANGE FROM HOTMAIL BUT NOE THAT IT WAS FORCED UPON ME HOW DO I REMOVE THE VERY ANNOYING ADS TO THE RIGHT OF MY EMAILS AND OBSCURE MY VIEW OF THE WHOLE EMAIL

The ads are how Microsoft makes the money to keep Outlook free.

You can upgrade to Outlook Plus (paid) to be rid of them permanently.

 If you have PLUS and ads please contact the Billing Department.

If you are using Firefox you can use either popup blocker or No-script but neither will reclaim the space the ads take up.

    Although not actually removing them, I open hotmail in a second browser (I use internet explorer) and resize and move it so that the adds are off the screen.  I then do my browsing in Chrome.  The adds are still there but I can't see them so they don't bother me.

    Agreed!

    But until Microsoft removes the ads .... you can take matters into your own hands.

    I considered Outlook a good alternative to Gmail after I learned that Google (illegally) reads our e-mail to target ads, whereas I'd heard that Microsoft didn't.  "Don't get Scroogled," right?

    I'm far from an anti-government conspiracy nut, but I read Glenn Greenwald's book about the Snowden documents.  He cites how Microsoft cooperates with the NSA so much as to build them a special portal for direct access to their servers.  

    MS hearts NSA, so just beware that everything you write to/from any MS account/product goes straight to watchful eyes.

    The ads make it impossible to print an email.  I accept them because they make the product free.  But the product is useless if I cannot remove them for printing.  Isn't there any way to remove them from the printed page only.
